Get Jontay to stay
Get Ramey to take over as the starting PG
Get MPJ to stay or a grad transfer (Ryan Taylor from Evansville?)
Get Tilmon to schmooze with the refs so he doesn’t get fouls called that other bigs don’t get called for.

Do those things and Mizzou is back in the tournament next season with a higher seed.

Jontay and Porter will both be back.

Ramey would be a good thing but don't expect too much from a freshman.
Tilmon needs to stop hip checking, running into people, and chopping (just for starters). Schmoozing is not going to be much help.

If Jontay is back. If a grad transfer wing is brought in and Tilmon can stay on the floor. Then the PG won’t have to do as much, as he would be the 4th option much of time.

Ramey would make a huge difference. Freshman or not.

We have to get some guys that can break down a defense.

Essentially, we just need an athletic upgrade.

I completely agree. We had/have some good basketball players who aren’t great athletes.

Watson, Pinson, and Santos should all be athletic upgrades in the end.

Add Smith as an athletic upgrade. If he has his body ready he will be able to steal minutes from Puryear or replace him as the 3rd big.

I predict Smith will take 0 of Puryear’s minutes.

We really need to get 1 or 2 athletic bigs on the radar for 2019 class.

Is he that bad? I was hoping we could get something out of him. So right now our only known good player is Jontay?

Your view of Smith has to be linked to what you think of KA as a coach. KA was not good at understanding how to use guys like Smith or Gant. Neither were played as much as they should have and neither were used in ways that took advantage of their skill sets.
If Smith’s body is right his ceiling is much higher than Puryear.

I knew you'd have trouble with that. I could spell it out. But I don't wanna

Maybe a more fair way of saying it is that our only proven high level returning contributor is Jontay.

Tilmon can be another if he can stay out of foul trouble. Puryear can be a strong contributor in a complementary sense.

The rest will be a hodge podge of surprises, disappointment, development and regression.

Well that's what I said. Our only KNOWN good returner is Jontey.

If MPJ somehow stays than he's another

Tillman has to be able to play more than 10 mins (I don't hold out much hope for this until he's at least a junior).

Puryear in decent off the bench.

There are promising players coming in that may do well but probably not sweet 16 kind of well as freshmen.

Next year is a building year with the goal just being to get back to the dance (or do really well in the NIT).

(Damn 808 made me spell it out by spelling it out)

If Jontay is back, he’s an SEC POY type of talent. If Ramey come to Mizzou to settle the PG position. And if a grad transfer wing that can start and score about 10 ppg next season will be better than this season.

That's a fair amount of ifs.

I'll bet right now Jontay won't be POY, but he should be damn good. or at least better. He looked like hot dog shite in the Flst game

That’s why it’s part of my offseason checklist. Those are things that need to happen for next season to be better than this one.
