This could be very interesting Memphis a ready made team or Arkie a major rebuild.

Just thought of something if Odom goes to Memphis will he take Walters as his DC, fine with me.

From a buyout perspective it is probably better for him to get a HC job. Then he can hopefully give jobs to everyone on this staff from last year.

I would prefer that ZERO coaches remain from last year's staff.

Looks like Arkie as a DC. Some money off the books. He'd a probably drug Dooley to Memphis, they were not gonna pay for that.

Looks like we’re hiring Odom and Brad Davis. Getting Odom would be huge at DC but I seem to remember you guys hating Davis. Is this accurate?

Didn't hate Davis, but the o-line did regress this year. He does have some recruiting connections in Florida.

His product last year was far superior to this year. Word was they took a different approach to practice at Dooley's urging. Outside of the game vs OM, the run blocking was soft and slow.

Davis is a good recruiter. But has been part of a couple of really bad OL at Florida and Mizzou. If Pittman can tutor Davis he will be a great coach down the road.

Thanks for the quick feedback. I’ve got to think Pitt will have a heavy hand in the OL so hopefully that overcomes any shortcoming he may have. I’m not a fan of us recruiting in Florida. Seems like a waste for Arkansas but maybe he’ll surprise me.

He might be one of those guys who realizes they are a natural born coordinator. Which sounds like an insult but let us face it, not everyone is cut out to be a HC and deal with the stress and politicking that job requires at this level.

I'd be happy to give him a shot. We can't get any worse than we were under Chavis unless we give up 40 points a game.

Not sure if anybody remembers, but Sam Pittman came with Bill Cubit in Larry Smith's last year at Mizzou.

I think Larry wanted Cubit's son to be our next QB. Pittman was an unknown.

That was probably our very worst recruiting year with a bunch of unheard-ofs, including sons and relatives of former college and NFL greats. NINE failed to qualify.

So what's the latest with Odom? Memphis? Arkansas?
