Get your guesses in now

I’ll say his base will be between 3-3.5M for 5 years. Buyout fully guaranteed in yr 1 and decreasing by 20% each following year. 500k extra into the asst pool

JQ has been behind Odom since he was hired. Most people on the board was pissed he was hired and have wanted him fired much of the time.

People all of the sudden like Odom and want him to have a new contract. People like him now for another winning season and they see other P5 schools trying to poach him.

l like Odom and like many have had my doubts. I give a lot of credit to JQ for being so vocal about his support for Odom.

JQ has been right all along

Ya know just cause you make some shite up don't make it so. Most people were hopeful when Odom was hired. 'High ceiling' was used a lot. Most people were aware of his inexperience. Which is about how it might be playing out. Go back and look. Or keep making shite up.

(People were pissed when KA was hired)

Just make sure he's making more than Les Miles.

For the life of me, I can’t understand the Odom detractors. He has definite areas of improvement that are needed, but he works his arse off and bleeds black and gold.

The fact that he is the lowest paid coach in the conference is a disgrace that needs to be rectified.

Yeah, we live in a strange world where a FOOTBALL coach making 3 mil is getting shite on.

Wonder what our Nobel prize winning cancer researcher is getting?

As an outsider I kind of have a mixed back and forth thing with Odom.

On one hand he's had improvement each year and is very well liked it seems as a person.

On the other I think it's hard to justify 4-4 and 5th in the East with the greatest QB in program history statistically (At least I think he broke most if not all QB records to call him that I'm not 100% sure) and very poor recruiting but Mizzou has always been kind of like Ark in regards to meh recruiting and having to do more with less to find success.

I don't know that I'd be wanting any kind of serious extension, reminds me of when Bielema showed a bit of success and back to back yearly improvements and we gave him an extension that bit us in the arse but as long as the buyout stays reasonable a small one I think is fine.

Paying a guy $5M doesn’t make him a better coach. It just allows some moron to puff out their chests and talk about how serious we are about winning.

He’s shown enough success and improvement to justify a raise and some increase in the buyout. If he can keep it up, he’ll be rewarded handsomely.

Yeah, $5M from $3M seems like a huge raise, I was assuming something like 3.5-3.8 and a small buyout increase.

Those buyouts are what really matter.

He’s not getting anywhere near 5M

I’d expect about 3.5 plus incentives which would put him 9th in the conference.

And he’s not recruiting poorly...lol. Look at the freshman class we just put on the field. This was a VERY good class. Who cares what some recruiting service, that underrates Midwest talent anyway, has to say about it. If you look at both of his full classes, we have gotten several very good players out of them. This is AT LEAST a top 20 roster in CFB and it’s mostly his guys (admittedly we have several top Pinkel players in the rotation)

If we are firing guys because of optics we’ll never have a coach.

He's not recruiting great but he recruits smart and he's getting better. It's a point in his favor

What is it with you in this firing shite? Like a couple people have used that word in the last year. Jesus you live in your own private Idaho

Yeah that's what I was thinking, 3.5-3.8 range.

I don't know enough about your recruiting other than what the sites show so that's kind of all I can offer for a view there. You may just be very different from a lot of the other schools or fans that live and die by those recruiting rankings good or bad. I get the whole doing more with less thing as Ark is very similar but still 43rd has to be considered poor for the current class and would be to anyone not a Mizzou fan I feel.
