This will help bring us up to speed with other SEC schools. Gives players and recruits a great place to go. Training facilities, meeting rooms, and offices. Not to mention the improvement to the south end zone for patrons. I think there’s some suites in there too.

They are installing footings that will be able to handle the load of a structure above the planned complex. This would allow connecting to the upper bowl and fulling enclosing the south end of the stadium. Current attendance doesn't make that a need.
This is a move in the right direction.

Thanks navynuke. That’s the information I was curious about. I’m okay with this being what it is so long as it’s a foundation for potential future expansion. Otherwise I think it’s a tough pill to swallow.

The excavation and foundation work is a significant part of the budget. This has been very well thought out IMO and they will have room to expand should it become necessary. 75-80K will likely be the max capacity if it ever happens.

That's what it is.
Like the design or not. It's a start

I don't think they'd ever expand on this complex. If they need more seats, which they likely won't, you'll first see the West Side then the North Endzone.
We'd need demand for well over 85k before we ever had to do anything with the South EZ

Adding a tier on either side of the west tower would be a waste of money and won't ever happen for several reasons, the first of which being the design of the tower itself.
To add a seating structure to the North end would again require a complete demo and new foundation.
It's cheaper to build up and they will already have the foundation work set. It may never happen but the best bang for your buck is above the south end.

If we ever do any kind of expansion then the West Side Pressbox will be demolished and a structure mirroring the East Side will be built. This is the long game, but that's next on the docket (if needed)

I think we’re going to need several years of sellouts before we have to worry about it, but I think the north end zone and the Rock M should stay the same. Build the south end zone seats upward to meet the west and east towers. That should bring us up from roughly 70,000 to 80,000 fairly easily.

65K is going to be capacity after this is built.
It will really take 10-15 years of winning 9 or more games before increasing capacity would be a need.

There will be no additional seating in the South EZ. The design is no conducive to adding more seats on the current structure. The only way to achieve this is to build structure behind it and if you look at the pictures and see how much attention is being paid to the outside appearance you'll see there is no plan to cover that up with another structure.

Good to know. Thanks. I love the exterior look from the south. From the interior it's not what most of us had envisioned, but still nice.

I just thought of something. Does this mean for the upcoming season the whole south end zone will be off limits? because if so, considering we should be pretty good, it may be impossible to get seats.

I believe they are to start destruction of the SEZ very soon. So, there probably wont be much of a standing structure next season.

Recruiting will improve with the major upgrade in facilities.
A new indoor practice facility will be next.

I don't give a shite what it looks like, just so long as every seat has a nacho cheese dispenser.
It's almost 2018, for Christ's sake. Where's my processed cheese tube, motherfricker?

Getting the weekend started early, bruh?

I love the outside look of it, pretty sweet. I do agree however that it should be taller, more imposing on the field side. Future attendance will dictate any more changes, but for now, I like it, especially with it's multi purpose usage inside. Additional recruiting tools that should help.
