Seriously. By reading some of these posts, you would think that a majority of you would rather forfeit the next game than actually play it. Yes, UGA is good, but so is Mizzou. We've got a god damn potential Heisman winner as our QB. We've got NFL prospects scattered throughout both sides of the ball. Multiple first rounders. We're an underdog at home, and that's great. These boys are going to come out fired up and with a chip on their shoulder. I hope the Dawgs are ready because the Tigers are fixing to eat.

We win by a TD. Bitches.

Our defense got torched by Purdue last week and we've never beaten the Dawgs in Columbia.

I'll believe when I see it

It was the first road game of the season. Purdue is not as bad as people are making them to be. This was their Super Bowl -- undefeated Missouri team. They wanted us. In turn, I think UGA is going to be our super bowl (at least until we play Bama).

These are college kids. They are emotional and will get up for certain games, etc. It's just the way it is -- we survived and now we've got to get up for UGA.

Talk to me about WHY we're going to get dismantled or destroyed by UGA.

Is their QB better than ours?
Is their WR corp better?
Do they have better RBs and TEs?
How many starters are returning compared to what we're returning?

I pointed that out a week ago in the predict the Purdue score thread.

It’s not about comparing Georgia’s offensive players to Mizzou’s offensive players. It’s how will Mizzou defend Georgia?

This can happen IF:

Our pass D plays a ton better
Our run D is as good as it seems
Our offense outplays GA's offense including running the ball where GA has to play against it

I would also like to note that we were without Lee the first half and Acy also went out after the first play from scrimmage. Things like this make a difference.

True. They only lost to Eastern Michigan by one point. and EM isn't bad either. They only lost to Buffalo by a single touchdown.

No, they aren't better which is saying something since they are one of the top teams in the country. but...

Are their DBs better?
Is their DL better?
Are their LBs better?

for the third year we have a JUCO level secondary. Things have improved a little since 2 of them could probably make the 2 deep for some P5 schools. If jawja get's in any trouble all they have to do is throw at this backfield.

WIBO continues to get out game planned. While he prepared for last year's Purdue team Brohm looked at this years game and realized he was outgunned almost everywhere. So he decided his only chance was to throw at that JUCO secondary and almost won the game. If WIBO and staff made any adjustments to that (like blitzing the LBs) I didn't see it.

Noticing reality doesn't make you a whiner. It just means your brain works sometimes

You could take that a step further and include players that would be senior starters on the defense, except they were kicked off the team.
Prewett at SS (drugs)
Howard at DE (drugs)
Brady at DE (guns)

Those 3 would make a pretty big difference this season at some of the weakest positions on the team.

I think the Tigers can make this a game. I know everyone and their brother thinks UGA is going to roll as soon as the clock starts ticking, but I don't see it that way.

I think we score first and I think it'll be shootout.

We'll play them tough. Coaches and defense need to do a bit of soul searching this week. Get it figured out.

Same. I’ll be rooting for my tigers like every Saturday and no matter what, I want to see some fight in the team despite playing a really good opponent. If we’re going down, I hope we go down swinging.

It's going to take a pseudo miracle to win this game, but you're right. Mizzou fans are just a different breed. The veracity in which they shite on their own program and the joy they seem to derive from it is just weird.

People will say everyone has "those fans" and they do but the difference here is "those fans" make up a much larger percentage within our fanbase. Could be argued they are the majority.

I'll be there Saturday. I know our guys will play hard and the defense will certainly be looking to prove that Purdue was a fluke...if we catch a couple breaks...

Maybe we are just playing up the rant part well. It would make us the best secrant team. And that has to count for something.

We could beat Georgia. It will be tough to do but there is always a chance. I'm hoping Odom will ratchet up recruiting each year to get us in the top 25, then maybe we can start confidently competing against the top shelf of the SEC. If he doesn't he will probably be gone in a few. This Georgia game and the Alabama game really seem inconsequential to the long term Odom plan unless we manage to play well or win, then it would be ahead of schedule.

Purdue entered the game leading the nation in yards per carry at 8.1 yds per. You would have recommended not prepaing to fill gaps?

I thought Purdue would be better than most people thought they would be. Acy getting hurt made a difference and Lee be out the first half hurt.

The Purdue game wouldn’t have been as close if the Refs had not missed some calls.

The two horse-collars, the Roundtree face mask, and the no call pass interference in the fourth. There were a few more, but it seemed one sided on the missed calls, but maybe I’m just being a Mizzou fan.

A lot of missed calls were rough. It'll be a different environment in COMO on Saturday. Sell out. I am not going to be 100% homer here, as I do realize UGA is a good team and could very well beat us. I just don't think they're going to steamroll us and beat us like we're the Children's School for the Deaf & Blind.

OK. So why didn't we start sending a LB when they decided to pass us to death?

Mizzou sent 27 blitzers according to PFF. At some point players need to start winning 1 on 1 plays.
