For some reason I thought the South Carolina game was later in the season. Not sure y'all drop a third straight game to Kentucky. 7-5 seems to be in line with what folks have been predicting for the season and your bowl game might be against a Big 12 foe to add a little sizzle.

I agree. I see SC as a more likely loss than UK, although SC is home and UK is road.

Season success will all come down to how well the WRs hold onto the ball. An exaggeration for sure, but not by much.

I think you have that backwards. The season success will be about the defense. We mostly know what we have with the offense, the defense though is the unknown. I think the defense will be ok. If the defense ends up being better than average, or good then this team could win a lot of games.

How well Beckner, Frazier, and Terez Hall play edges the WR ball skills IMO.

FIFY - Season success will all come down to how well the team plays ball.

TEAM sport and the coaches are part of that team.

6.5 wins. Over/under...you decide. If we lose to USCe (huge game), I'd go under.

I don't peg Kentucky as a loss either. Coming off a loss to Auburn after a bye week, they should be both prepared and hungry. Even though it's at Kentucky, I think we've got a good shot. They lost a 1000 yard rusher, starting LT, and I think a couple other pieces. Smell will be good, but that alone won't win it for them. Should be a good game.

Matter makes his predictions for starters. The only difference from the PM prediction was Utsey at DT.

The only 2 surprises for me was at center, and Safety

I guess I'm in the camp that the defense is going to be a sieve, so the offense will have to outscore the defense. And in order to do that we can't have sure touchdowns dropped by the wideouts.

Hope I'm wrong. Lord knows it wouldn't bne the first time.

If the defense is that bad, it will be a struggle to get to 6 wins. That's why I believe that the defense has to improve significantly to get to the 7-8 win range.

We will also find out how much of last years struggles were a talent vs scheme.

With this offense id be disappointed with 7. But I realize how bad the D was and unsure how much improved it'll be this season.

Still. Every game should at least be a potential shoot out in conference.i say we beat UK and USC

I would be ok with 7 wins coming off of back to back loosing seasons. That's especially true with 2 expected offensive starters being seniors. Lock, Blanton, Adams & JJ could potentially go pro after this season, but that would mean those players had amazing seasons. Something that likely means 9-10 wins.

The defense will lose more after this season, but only TBJ and Frazier seem like difference makers.

I'm in the usc is better than uk camp. The home and away situations make them basically even. Those are the determining games of the season. I think we lose to usc and beat uk but the defense is what matters. DBs are my biggest concern.

I think we'll struggle to get to 7-5.

I just see the defense really being bad. The back 7 is just horrifying. Maybe some guys step up, and hopefully they do, but if not it could be a long year.

The offense should be good enough to get us to a bowl, and that's progress. Have to hope the young defenders that BO brought in turn into something.

Nothing is worse then having a horrible defense in the SEC. Because other teams will see it and game plan for it. Last year was probably the most frustrating year I've ever had as a Razorback fan (yes even worse then the complete dumpster fire years) because I knew what the other teams were going to do... and that we couldn't stop them.

Missouri has to generate a D-line rush this year. Get in the backfield to disrupt the running game and passing attack and the secondary woes can be somewhat covered. If teams have time to pick apart the back 7 it could get ugly.

DM is sticking with his media experts, surprised he didn't say 6-6. We'll be better than 7-5 by at least 2 games.

Kentucky has as many questions as Mizzou defensively.

I am also interested in seeing if UF's new defensive backfield is as good as last year in the RZ. They weren't a great team vs the run but owned it when the field got short.

We have a bye week before Kentucky. That should put us at full strength and focused. I see us winning that one.
