I know the season is still not over, but after snagging Kelly Bryant it's hard not to look ahead to next year

2019 schedule:
@Wyoming
West Virginia
SEMO
South Carolina
Troy
Ole Miss
@Vandy
@Kentucky
@Georgia
Florida
Tennessee
@Arkansas

My Prediction: 10-2
This is assuming that the offseason drama stays at a minimum and the secondary improves. Offense should be as lethal, or even more, than this year. Big question will be what the dline will look like.

My prediction is we start 8-0 and the game in Athens is a top 5 matchup for a trip to Atlanta

I hope you're right. I'd make the trip to see a game like that in Athens

That would be awesome

but 3 years of experience says Odom will find a way to go 1-2 with WVU, SC, and KY.

Holgerson, Muschamp and Stoops are better at coaching right now.

We’ll get to see if Odom’s developing some chops next year.

Damn that is a lay up schedule.

SC, OM, UF and UT at home. Should all be wins if we are improving each year.

@Vandy, @UK and @Arky should all be wins.

@UGA is truly the toughest game on the schedule.

Wyo, SEMO and Troy should be wins. WV may be tricky but with both teams losing their starting QB and after today's news, I like our chances. That game is at home? Should win it.

Now let's actually go out and do it.

If he doesn't beat Kentucky next year, I don't think he ever will.

Meh, it’s still probably a top 25 schedule. It’s easier than this year, no doubt, but there are still several difficult games on there.

Let’s not go all 11-1 or bust quite yet (although I do think that’s possible)

Depends how well Bryant picks up the offense.

A game that will probably be overlooked is WVU. WVU brings more offensive experience than most realize.

West Virginia brings back all their RB’s. In a passing offense experienced RB’s will help the transition with a new QB. WVU is losing their LT and the rest of the line is coming back except 1 backup.

What could hurt WVU is losing their OC and only one game before playing at Mizzou.

Right, that’s what I’m saying. We have a chance at a really good season but the schedule is no cake walk or anything.

Several good teams on there that are going to be trying to win also

What are the tough games? And I know...every game is tough. Anyone can lose on any given Saturday. I don't see a game on that schedule that I don't say Mizzou should win except for the UGA game. UF? Maybe

I hope for 9 wins and nothing obviously stoopid in play calling. And no prat falls out of the gate.

Outside of UGA and just playing nobodies all year, I don't know how you can make the schedule any easier.

It's a given that our opponents are playing to win as well. But UGA is the only game that I see that I don't say "We should win this game." Not just "We can win this game."

If you know every game is tough then this 11-1 or bust talk should seem pretty silly to you.

This is a top 25 schedule. Easier than this year yes, but certainly not any type of cakewalk.

WVU could beat us. SC could beat us. Even fricking Kentucky (k, probably not but we have inexplicably lost 4 in a row to these bums)

We’ll be dogs @UGA and likely @UF

Arky and UT could take big steps forward.

Point is. Nothing is easy.

11 wins are possible sure.

So are you saying there should be no expectations? Not trying to be an arse but yes we could lose to UK again and if we lose to UK next year after they lose their best player on offense and their best player on defense, I'm going to be hugely disappointed.

So take away the fact that Missouri State COULD beat Alabama and which of those games do you think we SHOULD win. If easier, tell me the games we SHOULD lose. It's a much shorter list.

I'll start.

Mizzou should lose to UGA looking at it objectively.

WV and UF I would say are the next toughest games and I would only be slightly disappointed if we lose either but I do think we SHOULD win both of those games.

The rest...well the disappointment levels just get higher if we lose any of them.

Expectations are great. “Expecting” 11 wins at a school like Mizzou is probably not reasonable. You can see that right? This is why people melt on coaches so bad.

I do agree it’s possible though.

@UGA is going to be VERY difficult. UF, SC and WVU are all tough games too. We get them at home also.

It’s about as easy a schedule as we are going to have in the SEC, but they are never easy.

I think it could be very special if we get a couple questions answered.

Those coaches may or may not be better, but those teams talent most likely isn’t. I say most likely because UK will be awfrickingful next year. And a WVU less Grier sounds blah. USC will be a lot like this years team.

Grier’s replacement is Allison he was a 4 star recruit in 2016.

Before this season started, I thought we had the talent to win 10 games before a bowl. didn't say it because I knew I was at the end of the bell curve there.
Just pumping the brakes a bit here:

SC, UK, WV, FL: I have no idea what their incoming classes will bring, but all are expected to bring in more talent than Mizzou. Plus their coaches should improve the current players, just like we are counting on ours to do.

We lose 2 people that made our run defense special, plus some other strong contributors. New players will step up, but will they replace Beckner and Hall?
I think our OL will be as good, but there are going to be new starters. Have to see what Brad Davis can do with integrating new pieces.

The OL, WR, TE, and RB's have to gel with their new QB. This doesn't fully happen until you start playing live games, and WV will be our first real test. Things like botched handoffs, false starts on OL who haven't learned their QB's rhythm yet, etc....

We lose a great punter.
Hall changed our offense's dynamic. Will experience and growth in returning players equal that loss? Will our running game suffer if we can't pose a good deep threat?

I see one L, and 4 games that I expect we are 50% likely in. So I guess 9-3 (+/-1), with a stumbling loss in the first half.
