I cannot for the life of me understand why he hired a search firm.
Anderson said the firm contacted him directly, what the hell is Alden paid to do? Contract out his job?
That's the only thing that I find appalling in all of this.

I'm not going to root against him. I would guess his chances for ultimate success are below 50%. Good luck to him.
This. Best of luck to him, hope I'm proven wrong. In which case, I'll be the first to admit it.

Kim is simply a great guy and it will be a pleasant change to see some fundamental basketball for a change. This past season was painful to watch and I bet Kim's teams will play with more heart and energy than anything we have seen in Columbia in many years. I'm in.
You are probably right about this. I hope he's good enough to get to a Final Four. Just being better than Haith is not what I was hoping for.

I won't be renewing my TSF membership so I guess that means I am not on board.
I wasn't a large donor but I was a 110% member.

I'm all in. His teams will play defense, rebound and value each possession.

Hell yes I'm onboard. He is a Missouri guy through and through. He wasn't my first or second choice, but I hope he proves to be the best choice.

In. He's not a gutless selfish pussy like Haith. Players sense that. They'll play for him and he doesn't "need" Fuller, but it helps just to keep Gant and Wright.

I'll never root against Mizzou, and I do not understand the need to call people out to have to declare their preferences 24 hours after a much disagreed upon hire. What does "onboard" even mean? Not wanting Mizzou to lose? Liking the hire? Contributing money to the TSF? Picking up KA's laundry at the dry-cleaners?
Thinking people can have mixed feelings.
One thing I will go on record as saying: Alden is lucky I'm not his boss, and as far as I'm concerned, he's on double-secret probation. Well, maybe not so secret.

Isn't the important point that it's not what we think of coach KA but what Drew Lock thinks of him?

Just getting a feel for things after everything settled down a bit. No one is getting called out, and if you don't want to participate, then don't.
Sounds like most people that don't care for the hire are more pissed at Alden than anything else.

24 hours later is probably not ample time for things to have "settled down."
Have you ever been to Las Vegas and watched people play blackjack for long periods of time? I have.
Invariably there is the person who sits down at the table and hits on 17, fails to split aces and eights, doesn't double down when they're supposed to, and for short periods of time, the random number generator that is "the shoe" makes them look smarter than you because they draw a 3 on 17, the dealer busts and they didn't split, the dealer hits 21 when they didn't double down on their 11 against a dealer 5, and they look at you like you're an idiot, the stupidest person in the world for trying to give sound advice in playing a very tough game.
An hour later they're gone, busted, the house has taken everything they started with, everything they won, and they even added more trying to chase their losses and lost that too. They think the reason they lost was that they were unlucky and hit a bad streak. Terrible gamblers always think that way, and then call you lucky because it hasn't happened to you-yet.
Even if Kim Anderson starts off winning, it will not be because he was the best hire or even a good hire. It might be because in the short run, anything can happen, and it obscures common sense and good judgment. That's what this feels like to me. The player next to you at the table has defied the odds, and some are saying he's winning.

I think we all went through this in 2012.
Of course there's no real way to judge the hire until years down the road.
Everyone knows that. I'm hoping for the best, Kermit seems like a guy who legitimately loves Mizzou, so he's more like us than the last 3 coaches have been.
