Can confirm that #Mizzou is hiring Kerrick Jackson to be the new head baseball coach.
He was an assistant in CoMo from 2011-15.
This will be his 3rd head coaching job (Southern, Memphis & now #Mizzou)

LOL

what a shite hire 47-67 at southern, and a mediocre season at memphis.

and this is the f'in guy. Like i said in another thread, university does not give 1 frick about having top athletic programs.

This is as bad as Idiot Alden coming back from tourney coaches meetings and having Frank Haith as our bball coach.

I'll give the guy a chance, but it is an extremely underwhelming hire IMO

Couldn't wait until after the CWS to test the market? This has the visuals of a quick, cheap hire. Hope I'm wrong.

Bieser had St. Louis ties. By all accounts, Jackson is a solid coach. Those looking at his overall record at Southern might want to break it down and look closer. Having said that, don’t see him being anything much better than what we had. Only way this makes sense in a non revenue sport is if Jackson somehow helps bring in $50 million for a new stadium and NIL

On the surface it seems like a nothing hire. But I don't believe our AD is stupid. I'm wondering if she's bringing in someone who is capable but also able to bring in St. Louis support.

Clearly, our AD was looking for someone who played at, and coached at, a dozen different schools.

I hope I'm wrong, but this sounds like a new manager at the Dollar store.

So . . . we're going from the lowest paid coach with the smallest budget in the SEC . . .to the lowest paid coach with the smallest budget in the SEC.

so were basing a hire off of 1 season? Haith won big12 tourney and was a 2 seed his 1st season, how did that go?

Until there is competition for $$, from Missourians for college sports in the state, this will continue to be the way.

If Lindenwood could continue building and make some hire that improves their sports to a top middle program status, those in charge wont do a thing.

they know u will support school, blindly. They have proven they dont really care.

MU is 2nd to last in sports, overall, that's terrible and would be unacceptable with majority of p5 programs. Only Vandy saves MU from being last, and at least they have baseball teams that are top notch.

I stopped giving to tsf and got rid of MU plates, F me? , no Fou.

The incompetent AD couldn't even wait till the weekend of baseball/regionals was over, to talk to some assistants or head coaches.

they had to run out and hire a mediocre coach who has st.louis ties, and coached here.

To know he was their top target is laughable.

Did you apply for the job and not get an interview? Sour grapes is the only reason I can think of any Mizzou fan getting this worked up over a baseball hire.

Perhaps one of the problems of the MU baseball program is that, indeed, no one is expected to get worked up over a baseball hire.

How did the heck the AD hire a basketball coach from Cleveland State, and he ended up doing a fantastic job so far? Many fans thought that he was a bad hire.

He's 19 games below 500.

His hire does check a box though.

Dude you are just a miserable son of a bitch, give up your Mizzou fandom. It broke you, don’t feel bad. Being a Mizzou fan takes balls of steel, some just don’t have them. I would suggest jumping on kU for BBall fandom and say Georgia for football. You will feel better if you just give up the addiction.
