I thought I would make this to get a little more activity here and to talk about SKC/Chiefs/Royals with my fellow Kansas Citians.

Royals sure are playing well, hopefully Mendoza can keep the train rollin.

On the other side of the state so I haven't kept up with it, but what's the feeling in KC...does Chase have a legitimate shot at the starting job?

Nah he is definitely gonna be the backup unless Alex Smith gets hurt.

I'm not an Alex Smith believer. Have they already said the job is Smith's?

Me either. I'd like to see Chase get a shot.

Yeah it was never really a competition I don't think

Plus Smith has been pretty good in the spring so far

Severe cases of Mizzou goggles had people thinking it was.. but you're right, it never was.

Could see Smith failing and Chase given a shot if that happens.

Friend of mine told me they talked about Chase on a local sports radio here in KC. He also told me they were highly impressed with Chase. They said he was much faster than they thought . Whaatever that means. I dont know where they watched him, guess spring drills? But my buddy didnt go to deep into it too much on what exactly they were saying other than they were deeply impressed with his speed I guess.

I think if he had a legit shot, or if Alex gets hurt like what was mentioned here, he's a backup.

How much do you think #5 has helped the hitting. It looks like there is alittle more aggressive hitting. Lough is looking goos also. Kids got a sweet swing.

Other than that, I think we still got a shot at the playoffs. This winning 7 of the last 8 games is a step in the right direction.

We sure lucked out today. It is so frustrating watching Shields pitch great game after great game only to get no run support

I was at the game last night. Good crowd, but Guthrie and then Chen pitched like sh!t... not to mention we couldn't hit

Gotta say as a royals fan for over 20 years I am getting so sick of this. Every year I follow every game and have only once seen us win more than we have lost in a season. Talk about aiming at a low goal anyways! I hate to admit it but since the beginning of the 90s it has been the most poorly ran franchise in sports. the front office has no idea what talent they have. They have emptied out the farm system which is hard to imagine for a team with high picks for 25 straight years, and after having one of the worst offenses in the AL last year we improved it by adding.... Nobody to the offense. And surprisingly this year we have a losing record because we don't score runs. Not real surprising. But at least while I watch us lose at home to what should be the worst team in the central I can watch highlights of the prospect we gave away hit grand slams against the yankees! Guess he wouldn't have fit into our club. haha

I've been a Royals fan since the 80's. Remember listening to their games on the radio when I lived in Kansas(before teams had their networks). Just can't give up on them, baseball is my favorite sport. Love the differences between the NL and AL teams, history, etc. I love AL baseball. Yes Cards games are more fun to go to, they are fun to watch but I'm a Royals fan all the way. Now I do keep up with STL's AA team in Springfield.

I respect and appreciate that too. I will always be a royals fan too, I have just never experienced any of the success that you got to see in the 80s. haha but I will say the year we do make the playoffs will be much sweeter for waiting so many years!

Just wish we could have better management, not many cities would still support a loser like this. I think KC really wants to get royals fever and support baseball but it is so hard to do after so much disappointment. Hopefully things are on the way up and the fan base will get the long overdue excitement we all have waited for.

We do it with the Chiefs too. Yes, they're not bad to the extent of the Royals, but if David Glass wasn't in town Clark Hunt would be a villain in this town. He greatly benefits from David Glass taking all the bad publicity. Clark doesn't live in our city either and has run one of the cheapest franchises in the NFL since he took over the team. It essentially took an all out fan revolt to bring about change and we'll only find out in the next few years whether he's willing to stay committed to the new movement or not. Average owner>Clark Hunt>David Glass
