Mizzou had Georgia on the ropes with B Cook at QB.

Mizzou had Auburn beat at Auburn before Peat fumbled the ball at the end of the game. Brady Cook was the QB.

Mizzou had Kentucky beat if not for a questionable roughing the kicker call at the end of the game. Again, B Cook was the starter.

I also am a fan of Sam Horn’s ability. I felt it was appropriate to post this because of all the negativity online about Brady Cook. My point is, we had an injured and inexperienced qb that had us in this those 3 games. Mizzou easily could have had a much improved record. There is hope for this team. Let’s start supporting these guys instead of ripping them a new after one game.

He is incapable of throwing the deep ball, therefore defenses will pounce, look at the film against South Dakota he had a receiver wide open on deep post, you cant do that in the SEC, when Kstate drags our skull all over Faurot..it will be I told you so..

Yes, we are aware Drink's teams have been undisciplined and poorly coached in close games.

Patrick Mahomes was 23rd in the NFL in deep ball Touchdowns with a deep ball completion rate of under 50%. He also throws to his running backs and marches the field with dinks and dunks. I’m not suggesting the Chiefs are comparable to Mizzou. I am saying that you can win without a great deep ball. Cook needs to be better this year but he is taking too much heat at this stage in the year. If we get crushed in the SEC then it will be deserved at that point in time.

Why not! K-State will not be able to stop Ole Mizzou this season.

You were complaining about deep throws. I gave you stats of one of the best. Tell me how i was arguing Brady is Mahomes. All i’m saying is Mizzou fans need to back off the kid and support him. He played his arse off with one good arm last year and still got to a bowl game. Should we be better? Absolutely. Is he to blame for last year? No. Simple as that.

fricking joke to even mention Mahommes here. He did not throw deep because every team covers the deep routes NOT because Mahommes cannot throw deep. Cook’s inability downfield will cost this team. 8 in the box all day if I am DC vs Mizzou. Even worse he has 2 MORE years. fricking Cam Newton could not beat him out in Drink’s eyes.

I have less negative feelings towards Brady than I do Drinkwitz’s idiotic handling of the situation.

Listen Brady Cook Sr.

It's the intangibles. Cook threw two balls into double coverage against an FCS secondary. Against SEC, those are possible pick 6s ...

And he did that all last year. He'd stare down his primary, have at least one guy running a post wide open if he could throw to a spot ... but instead constantly checked down to a RB or his safety receiver ... or he'd overthrow or completely miss the post with his weak, inaccurate arm ...

We would have beat GA last year with a competent QB but mustered 4 FGs instead of TDs.

He is what he is. I saw glimpses of him at least going through his progressions on Saturday ... but besides the post for the TD, he checked down almost every other play.

There's a reason his only offer besides ODumb was Austin Peay, an FCS school. His arm is average, his legs are above average for HS and his heart/grit are solid. But he isn't an SEC QB and that will become very clear in week 3 against an average BIG 12 team ...

I'll eat crow if I'm wrong but only way we win games this year is on the OL and defense.

Everyone seems clear on whose fault it is. It isn’t the kid giving 110% on the field.

Yeah nothing vs Cook he loves Mizzou, has great effort and seemingly has the locker room all positives. Problem is arm talent, I hope to hell I am proven wrong with a healthy season.

Case in point, Drink today: We will be moving forward with Brady Cook as our quarterback and quarterback No. 1 while giving Sam (Horn) opportunities to grow throughout the game. It won’t look the same as it did this past week as far as maybe equal first half and second half.”

As the used car salesman that he is, Drink throws in that last bit to give fans hope that Horn will get some first half touches ...

But when the score is 9-3 at halftime ... Horn probably won't see the field.

Hope I'm wrong and we're up 28-0 in first half but I seriously doubt that will be the case ...

You know what guys? Saying you "hope you are wrong" is pretty dishonest. Some of you are so focused on being right (which you are not) that being an actual fan of the team becomes secondary, if it was ever primary before.

bullshite to think you know people and what their desires are. Being a Mizzou fan is not the easy way to go and I have not been a fan since the 70's to hope Cook sucks so I can be "right". I have been hevily envolved in football as a player in college and coaching for 30 years. I see some issues with Cook. I also see positives with him as I stated in the thread above. To think I would rather be right to a bunch of jackasses on the internet compared to seeing my team win is fricking stuppid.

It’s just different personality types. I stood on the edge of the field watching Colorado score on the fifth down. I sat with my dad watching Baylor score its first ever Big 12 road win. I watched Suh demolish us in the freezing rain. I stood in the stands watching Kentucky get two cracks at scoring on bullshite pass interference.

I’m still a fan. And I don’t have to pretend everything is great. Or that our coach is an offensive genius. Or that he’s not a slimy, used car salesman.

Still a fan. Thanks for your concern.

This.

I've been a fan longer than some posters here have been alive.

Bottom line: Drink sucks. Cook is what he is. I hope I'm wrong this year a lot.

Because of a defense that was one of the best in the country and could have been better if Cooks ragged arm and poor vision kept them on the bench more often.

Cook was shite against UK and his fumble was one of the more pathetic ones I’ve ever seen from a QB.
