I've been watching this guy all season out here, and can anyone tell me why he wasn't THE MAN at Mizzou?

I watched him last year, with the defeated attitude and poor play and wondered why he was leaving for the draft, now he looks like a legit NBA'er.

Now the city of LA is in love with the guy, he's got Kobe excited, he thinks he's a piece of the puzzle, yet Haith couldn't get anything from him last year.

Anderson would have probably suspended him, so there's that.

Welcome Stir. Clarkson was a senior last year wasn't he? But you're right. Amazing how little Haith could get out of him. And Jabari has been tearing up the D League.

Clarkson was a RS JR last year. Both he and Brown could have come back for this season.

I thought his and Brown's issues last year had to do with both their fathers finding out they had cancer mid season. Both were playing real well prior to that.

Welcome jonny. Shows how bad my memory is. I thought just the one was a junior.

I'd say Clarkson was the man while he was here. He and Brown had huge individual seasons. The problem was there was simply no one else. Makes me wonder what it would have been like if Pressey had stuck around 1 more year as well. If Pressey had come back last year and Brown and Clarkson this year, the program would be in a much, much different place.........who knows.

Offensively yes but neither could spell defense.

This. And the fact that no one plays defense in the NBA until the 4th quarter or playoffs.

Learn about Drew Hanlen, went to HS with him. He became both Wiggins, Clarkson, and Lavine's personal trainer when they left college and man its been a world of difference. He also works with John Wall, Brad Beal, David Lee and Jayson Tataum. Many more but those are his full time clients.

Not true.

Anyway, you could see Clarksin's talent here but he played terribly inefficient while he was on the court and took a ton of bad shots.

If players in the NBA played legitimate defense, we would not see consistent scores in the 100+ range.

In the 2013-14 season: Of the 30 teams that season... 17 averaged over 100 ppg. Of those 30 teams, 16 made the playoffs. 14 of the 16 playoff teams saw their PPG averages drop.

NBA players are very good. Very skilled and the game is more geared towards offense than the college game, but NBA teams most definitely play defense.

Jabari was probably the better player here. If Pressey would have stayed that team would have made the tourney. Clarkson has an NBA body. He never played D here and forced way too many shots. I'm not going to look it up, but I would venture to say that his assist/ TO ratio was probably very bad. Nobody ever said he couldn't score. On a side note the lakers are 16-46. The question is can he win games. Thus far the answer is a big no. I wish him well because hopefully he speaks well of Mizzou, but was never a big fan of his. He gave effort on offense, none on defense and took bad shots all the time. Hence fitting well in the NBA.

Pace tends to drop in the playoffs. Half of the teams in the playoffs last year increased their offensive efficiency from the regular season.

Clarkson would have been a much better player with us if we had an actual system for him to play in. Our entire gameplan was simply to pass the ball around the perimeter, and either wait for someone to drive and try to draw a foul, or throw up a prayer 3.
