Illinois MIGHT be the leader for him now and Mizzou isn't in his final five.

That's life at Mizzou.
I think people were trying to verify that report. Not sure anyone has.
If he goes JUCO, that probably changes the picture a lot.

Yeah, we're out.
He said we didn't play former ESL players enough. OOOOOOOOK....
On to the next one. We have both Johnson and Wingo for the next couple of years. We are fine.

Sounds scared. I guess if Illinois is your leader you don't want to be pushed for playing time.

Similar to when we got DGB, we had an abundance of good players at his position.
I realize it's a hard sell to many of you that we're fine at WR, but for the most part we are. JJ and Jeff Thomas are cut from the same cloth, and he's got three more years. Nate Brown back in the picture next year. Plus every guy that played this year. Plus some interesting pass catchers that red-shirted this year.
Thomas is the shiny toy on the shelf, but we really need immediate impact help at LB and on the DL more than we need him.
The real kick-in-the-nuts on Thomas is how much we've invested in ESL. I'd imagine Estes would not have a scholarship offer from us if Thomas didn't exist. Either way, it's not a bad thing to have a good relationship with the ESL program.

Well, we do but my point was that Johnson and Wingo would be our top 2 slot options next year and you also have Floyd. We aren't hurting there. It would have been great to have him, but it's not really a position of need.
We need guys at DL and DB

Return 11 starters from an offense that ranked pretty high nationally.
Defense is really the need right now. Especially DT & CB.
Miller might be ready to come in and start right away at LB.

Slow your roll folks. No one can back up this guy's story. I've told to multiple reporters and None of them who Cover Mizzou can confirm what he is saying. Not even Gabe

My problem this is the same story as 2 weeks ago...

Also 24/7 still has him 83% going to Mizzou

Yeah. Eff Beckner for not playing on shredded knees.
If he's referring to players like Nate Strong, it's hard to get playing time at Mizzou when you're JUCO.
And unless things have dramtically changed Thomas himself is flunking out, so P5 isn't happening anyway.

Yeah, moving on. Kids say stuff like that to justify their decisions. It's nonsensical but if the kid doesn't want to be here then so be it.
Like you said, when can make a run at him again after his JUCO stint. If he can't see how we helped Strong and Taylor then he's not paying attention.

Simms was also going to Illinois

I have no doubt Lovie is recruiting him hard but that program is really shitty. If you could go to osu or bama, why would you pick iliini? His grades are shite and he will end up burning a couple years in juco if he can even get his grades together then. These juco kids only usually give a single good season (Sheldon, anyone?). Better to spend time coaching up a high 3star for 5 years that goes to class than to wait on a 4star juco kid that has no interest in graduating.

He's right though. Maybe there's a reason they don't play more but he's right.
Strong didn't play until we were forced to.
TBJ didn't always start despite being a top 5 player in the nation.
Taylor's not playing despite our secondary sucking arse.
So yeah, I can see where he would have that perception even if it's not justified

Strong missed 3-4 weeks due to being injured. Then was a backup to the best offensive player in the country.
TBJ was coming back from an injury, but was still basically in a 50/50 split with the starters.
Other than TBJ they were all first year players, so not starting wasn't a surprise.
