Son of world shotput champion (and Mizzou grad) Christian Cantwell, the 6'8", 285 lb youngster is D-1-level in several sports Basketball center, O-line, and record-setting thrower...plus, he's a top student.
I've met his folks (Mom is also an olympic shotputter)
A great get! I hear the Okies are after him hard as an o-lineman, but we have a couple years to turn him "home." (He's from Nixa.)

Now has many offers. Alabama is after him hard (with offer)
now 6'8"/300lbs. Setting records in shotput as a freshman. Benching 405x4.

Sweet baby jesus he's a Freshman?! That is an enormous kid and it sounds like he could legitimately be a 2 sport athlete in football and hoops if he wanted to

According to Rivals (and several other sites), he does have a Mizzou offer and has had 2 visits...most recently, last month.
Rivals shows him with 17 offers.

Watched Cantwell play Friday against Webb City and I wasn’t impressed. Slow to get up out of his stance. He got beat all night by a 205-215 pound DE.
Nixa has another tackle that is pretty good.
Nixa’s OL isn’t that good overall. They didn’t get in the Red Zone all night.
Went to the Freshman game at Nixa last night and they have a really good QB and WR. Their FR QB could start Varsity at a lot of schools. He is 6’2” 215 lbs. with a strong arm.

He’s a sophomore but your point still stands. He’s got 3 years to improve and will likely start hitting camps after this season.

Kid has buzz so he will make it. Don't know if you guys remember the name, Alex Leatherwood. He got early buzz too. But he was slow as hell.
But,
Alabama offered so he must be a 5 star.
Played for Saban so he must be a NFL talent.
Won a natty so Raiders take in 1st round.
Cut after 1 year, Chicago says "well he was a 1st rounder, we should grab him."
Chicago cuts him. "Young man you are too damn slow."
Sometimes, early buzz can make you alot of money because of the Herd mentality.
