Assistants move all the time. What Pinkel did in keeping his assistants together is extremely rare in college football.

Assistants don’t leave SEC teams to take a lateral move to the AAC.

Barry Odom was still not on top. He was still building the program and then other coaches started to leave. That is not good. Not enough time to set foundation so easier to replace them.

And that wasn't really a good thing, Pinkle should have shown a little less loyalty to his "Family" and looked for a lot more tactical smarts in his coordinators.

About the Senior Day loss, Odom said, according to Souichi Terada, “Talked more about life. There’s a lot of things that are not going to go your way.” Mentioned try to go and do something the rest of the season.

Ok then who would you want?

Dave Clawson

Mike Norvell

Bill Clark

Fickell would be worth interviewing as well.

Odom leverages a supposed offer from Memphis (in part) to get Mizzou job.

Norvell takes Memphis job.

Odom loses Mizzou job. Mizzou goes after Norvell?

Clark was a HS coach in Alabama for 28 years. He’s done a great job at both of his college stops. Fantastic job at UAB really.

I’d be all for that

Not kicking the wheels on Norvell would be a mistake IMO. His name is going to be tied to several jobs but his team executes with precision.

Like Clark, pretty much built a program from scratch.
