Next year will be fun as we decide which year was the aberration.

Probably go straight down the middle and leave us all confused.

Straight down the middle would be a failure of a season. That would make the choice quite easy.

I have a gut feeling Gates will turn this basketball team around this coming season. It was bad this past season, but I am seeing a huge improvement due to roster and assistant coach change/addition for the better of the team. Last year was just an off year but just wait and see and you will be glad Gates is still the coach.

He is making this season special. One way to find out is to watch and support this coming season. Just like in football. Mizzou football came out of left field and boom win 11 games. That is what I am expecting for basketball. Might not be a final 4 team but close to that.

Appreciate the optimism. But football didn’t come out of left field. We knew what we had, the question was at QB.

I think we all knew that with good QB play the ceiling was high. The surprise was that it was with Cook.

Great coaches make great assistants. Great assistants dont make great coaches. If Gates's success is going to depend on his assistants, he is going to be a failure at this level.

The best HCs teach assistants how to coach/teach the way the HC wants and teaches them how to become great HCs themselves.

Didn't one assistant leave due to a cancer diagnosis? He was part of the missing link. This time he will get the players fired up and start what Gates did in his first year. I just have that gut feeling this coming season will be much better. It can't get any worse than last year.

Nutt is the one with cancer. I do think he is a solid assistant but I really dont think assistants have the capability to raise a ceiling on a program. They can probably help raise the floor, though.

Dickey is an amazing person and the stories he can tell are great. Wish he was still able to coach and hope he beats cancer.
