Interesting hyothetical question posed over on Tigerboard

Would you rather win out in football to finish 10-3, with victories over Bama, UF, UT, A&M, and likely another ranked opponent in a good bowl game? Or would you rather make the Final 4 in basketball but lose to kU?
Difficult choice...I keep waffling on it.

I'll take the 10-3. You had me until the loss to kU. I'll take 10-3 and bowing out in the elite 8. I'm afraid of what a 4-8 season might do to the football program.

Gosh that's a tough decision but I think making a final four only to lose to kU and them having that over us for eternity would be too much for me. So I guess by default I'd rather have 10-3

That's easy for me. Take the football wins. More money to be made there, and better for the program in the long run.
We'll get to a Final Four eventually. However...If we managed to get to a Final Four but lost to kU, all of Tigerboard would need to be put on suicide watch.

I will take 10-3 anyday....ku is dead to me. After all we moved to a conference where the basketball is better. UK kicked ku's arse so again the SEC is King....

The losing to kU part easily makes it a 10-3 football record. I'd take another Norfolk State loss before losing to those fricking bastards to the west.

Hypthetically sucks, but Mizzou football needs some magic elixir. As frustrating as no final four has been for Mizzou basketball, I can still feel it coming.

Final four will happen someday I figure, football we could be in for some tough trudging unless we start to recruit better and "keep up with the jones". I did hear something a little worrisome though and was wondering if there is any truth to it. Apparently according to some in the know frank haith has not bought a house in como yet, bc he's afraid the other shoe is still gonna drop from Miami allegations

OMG, hope that is a wild rumor. But if he has not bought a home yet, that could certainly be a contributing factor.

I concur and empathize with you on having friends and family who drink the kU Kool-Aid.
We have never called to gloat or rib those kU fans, and there has been plenty of opportunity over the years. Can't say the same for several of them. Caller ID has helped, but they then resort to texting. We are guilty of buying a couple of Bucknell sweatshitrts for gifts. (They have been passing around as Xmas gag gifts for several years now.)

I must not have been clear. I would wish for the 10-3 in football, because the BB team won't need fans' fantasy to make the final four.
