I'm gonna be completely honest here.

There are no options. The Gregg Marshall ship has sailed.

Mike Alden single handedly destroyed Missouri basketball.

It's all over. The rebuild will take a decade.

Whoever gets the gig has some serious rebuilding.

Any coach that can do 2 things can rebuild Mizzou rather quickly.

1. Recruit. Even KA has been able to land a few top 150 guys. There really are a bunch of kids in the STL area in the 2017 & 2018 classes. Keep this freshman class as a foundation gets some top 150 talents and the talent would be there.

2. Develop talent. Get players to improve from beginning of the season to end. And between years. KA hasn't proven he can do that.

So in other words, we can be good if we don't suck?

I bet Gary Pinkel is happy social media wasn't around when he was coach. He would have been fired after year 2.

Kim Anderson and Pinkel have zero in common. Less than zero.

If we get good players and then we coach them well we might be able to get a good team. It's the subtitle of my new book: Coaching Basketball.

Pinkel coached at a mid major and demonstrated success there. He was hired at Mizzou because of his success at a high level.

He had some tough seasons here and then changed almost his entire offensive philosophy when what he was doing wasn't working.

He wasn't hired because it was "his turn" or because the AD struck out on the homerun hire or because some in the fan base were tired of African American coaches.

There are so many polar opposites that it's difficult to list them all.

I'm ready to open the vault for Marshall, Miller, or Jacobson.Isn't that what this SEC Network money is for?If neither are interested then the other names you mentioned sound good to me.Trying to be patient with Anderson, but it's looking like it's not going to happen.

Unfortunately I agree with this. Might as well give KA two more years to see if the young team we have now can do anything. There really aren't too many better options for us I'm afraid.

It looks like we have to do what K State did with football and get Norm to come back and get his program fixed.

Frank Martin. Whoever thought he would leave K State and go to crappy South Carolina. But he did and look now. The right money I think he would look at Missouri knowing the tradition here. That once was.

Martin is one entertaining interview.I like him.No phony cliche answers ever from him.I think if he truly wanted to stay in the Midwest he wouldn't have left Kansas St. though.

Certainly there's a lot of good possibilities. Think of all the tall alums who are well-dressed and sit up straight. Any would make a damned good coach.

I don't care who the next coach is, as long as it's a safe hire.

No thanks. He's the Bo Pelini of basketball. You'll get some success and an awful person.

One that encourages use of "safe spaces" too
