If Drink can keep most of the defense from transferring, then there’s enough talent to get to 6-8 next season. Maybe more if Robinson has a good offense learning the offense.

It's going to be a challenge. Is the NCAA ban through next year too?

I’m not as down on the talent here as others. If everyone stays the new staff will only have to replace Elliott and Oliver as guys that started the Arkansas game.

The offense has enough talent at the skill positions, even if they underperformed this season. If ED can get the QB play to take advantage of that talent then we should have a solid season.

If starters transfer then that could change real quick.

We also have a running QB that redshirted this year as a transfer.

If Drink is as good of an offensive coach as we think, he will find something that can make us competitive.

As we saw with Huepel you can scheme to hide bad OL.

Elliott will be a huge loss, but there’s good depth at DT. Whiteside had a really good season.

As you said QB play will tell us all we need to know. If Robinson has a good offseason next season could be fun.

Against South Carolina, App States OL held Kinlaw to 1 tackle no sacks and only gave up 1.5 sacks for the game. I don't know if his OL coach is coming with him, but that's a hell of a job for an undersized OL.

The ASU OL coach is an alum there. He didn’t follow Satterfield to Louisville

Bazelak should easily be full GP for fall camp. He’ll have every opportunity to win the job

For every player that leaves, another will be brought in, and it's not like Odom had some great class.

If you compare the 2 classes, Appy st and MU, they aren't very far apart, and MU is a P5 school, and only football school in state of MO, and kids leaving in droves.

Ford has to be fired, he's been a failure in St.Louis/Metro

I feel our best future is with Connor Bezalek (sp?) not Robinson, he may prove me wrong but Robinson was ehh at best at TCU and Connor looked great for such a young guy and in command when he did play, either one that gets the nod i hope they are awesome, i was unimpressed with Bryant this year, injury or not he was not reading properly most of the time and our defense masked a lot of his short comings.

Ford has been great as a recruiter at the RB position. There hasn’t been a designated STL recruiter for several years. Ford, Haley and Hargreaves are coaches to consider keeping.

Any offensive players that leave are giving up on an aggressive vertical system. His running game isn't very complex but he had 3 consecutive 1000 yd RBs and he will use them heavily in the passing game.

Who the DC ends up being may impact some guys on that side of the ball but I don't see any of those guys finding a better situation.

Obviously there are a number of players I hope don't leave but I can't think of one player where I would go "Awww shite" if they left. Just can't have them leave in droves.

Who are the key players anyways?

On defense key players are:
Whiteside, Bolton, Bledsoe and Gillespie
On offense it’s harder, but I would go
Badie and Robinson. Maybe Bazelak, Rountree, Watkins, Scott

I mean, we need to keep everyone we can. We can’t have a mass exodus or we are looking at a pretty serious rebuild as it’s not all that realistic for this to be a great class with the coaching transition and now having an early signing day.

I’m not seeing a ton of smoke about anyone really wanting to leave though, although I’m sure we’ll see a few. I would think Drink is meeting with the team tonight or very soon

Is Johnathon Johnson a senior?

I said before the start of the season that wr worried me more than any other position with the departure of E. Hall and our wrs were non-existent this year. Dooley didn't know how to use JJ the last 2 years and it showed. We still have no big play consistent wr and that will be a problem again next year.

We need Massey and Boone to step it up and hopefully give some notice to Dove in which Dooley didn't.
