The OLine didn't help the backs much. There weren't many runs where first contact was beyond the LOS. Other than the first drive of the second half.

It's two fold. While the OL played poorly none of the backs behind Hansbrough know how to hit a hole. Our between the tackle running was nothing short of pathetic. It's just inexcusable that we are this bad at RB.

The offensive line play was lacking after Hansbrough and Beohm were injuried very early on. To point fingers at the new OLine coach is a joke. I guess they should get it over with and fire Ricker and put Pinkel on probation. Is it impossible for you to watch a game, critic the teams performance and not bring up firing someone one game into the season?

Play calling was pretty basic.

Mauk will probably be used lots in the run game this year. He had 2 designed runs.

Also looks like maybe to zone read will come back into play this year. Couple times it looked like the DE wasn't blocked.
The coaches also use the WR screens as part of their run offense.

Use those and the middle should open up a little.

Pinkle doesn't fire coaches.
So Ricker gets as long as he wants.

What about it is idiotic?

I said I'm not talking about firing the guy. But the line struggled for most all of the year last year. This year, we returned like 5 guys with starter experience but the line was embarrassingly bad against a horrid team. At what point does he have to start showing some progress with the OLine before you start wondering about the coach himself? He get 5 years of poor performance? 2 years? He never gets questioned?

The point of the thread is that for Mizzou to be successful, Ricker had better start showing improvements along the OLine. We got a new LB coach and they sure as hell seemed fine and both had starters from last year all over the place.

Yeah, I've seen a lot of people calling for that. Relax man. It's just a discussion. No one calling for heads. Even the OP acknowledged that.

Are we talking about the same Ricker that has reopened Texas for us by landing Anderson, Nworah, and Baldwin? Yeah I'd say he isn't going anywhere soon.

Boehm came back in. Let's not make excuses for this OL. One can't block 5 anyway

Good point. But all the talent in the world isn't going to do much good if they aren't coached up. We'll see how they improve this week. I was just a bit shocked at how a SEMO was able to control the line of scrimmage. One thing if it's SC or UGA or hell even BYU, but SEMO????

Every place Ricker has gone has been better at rushing the ball with him as the OL coach than before. The one exception was last year at Mizzou. Even then the line made big strides from beginning to end. I think the same happens this year.

I'm with Reedus on this one. Mizzou's third team O should get more than 100 yds against any FCS team's number 1's. Most of the time there were no holes for the RB's to hit. SEMO won the line of scrimmage. Okay, RB depth is not what it should be. But any P-5 RB should be able to run on a FCS team with decent blocking. The OL is a hot mess. Ricker better pull his head out of his behind and get this unit going.

Easy guys. Attack the post not the poster. Not an RA in 9 months but just 1 day into the season and already lighting up the board.

I'm not sure if anyone else picked up on this, but I noticed when they panned the sideline that GPs sideline girl is no longer that hottie from last year.

How long does she get? I mean we should have hot tail running up and down the sidelines, not these MAC looking broads.

This will only hurt recruiting going forward, and it's almost like Pinkel doesn't even care.

Don't tell me things like this don't matter either. BECAUSE THEY frickING MATTER!!

It's gonna be a long season.

And in a way, that excites me.
