How Is The Potential 2026 Roster Looking?

Assuming Drink stays what impact players return and what major holes will there be to fill?
And how many holes have to be addressed via the portal as opposed to being filled in-house?
Drink also seems to be trying to amass a bigger recruiting class this year. Is it a reflection of a slight shift away from reliance on the portal or a possible precursor to the SEC increasing scholarships from 85?
I'm curious to your opinions as Mizzou tries to prepare for 9 game SEC schedules.

quote:
major holes
Kelvin Coleman (slot/all purpose/yac guy)
Zion Young (DE)
Connor Tollison (OL)
In that order, those three stand out as hard to replace.

Biggest shoes to fill are McClellan and Young. McClellan has anchored the line and kept Trotter clean all season long. Young's energy will be missed.
Olugbode will slide into the slot next year and provides an immediate talent upgrade over Coleman.
Wilson will take over at center. Replacing Trost is a bigger issue IMO.

Damon Wilson may be gone.

I miss the days when a fan could look forward to, and count on, a roster full of underclassmen who have improved over the season(s). Throw Drink's PSU flirtation into the mix and what's the point? Used to enjoy projecting future lineups. Why even bother right now?
Maybe I'm reading too much into things he's said lately and the way he looked in his presser last night, but I have a feeling he might already be gone.

McClellan turned out to be a hell of a get from Florida. Hope he gets a shot in the league.

You might as well get started on the search for the next HC. You can start a topic for us to list potential HCs to replace Drinkwitz.

I've already started a list Lefty. You're at the top.

I'd add that watching college fb used to involve seeing a player's progress over 4-5 years. That was a lot of the fun. 90% gone now.
All amateurism is gone now.

Mozzou does a pretty good job of holding on to talent that gets developed. Especially on defense. The recent OL re suits should start seeing the field next year and the WR room and RB room usually stays pretty steady.
