re: Honestly, if Mizzou hires Odom it will be an abortion of a decision

Agree with Misseaux. Again. A high-level coordinator from a big, successful P5 school would impress me more. Especially a southern school where that coach would have established recruiting ties.

Yes kills, just like Pinkel. Or better than Pinkel.

Not worse, not moving backwards. What Pinkel did here was amazing, this place was a flaming pile of shite. Horrendous. Larry Got the ball rolling and Pinkel kept it moving.

Do you remember how big a deal the Holiday Bowl was? We'd be pissed at that now.

This is a 20 year rebuild. Twenty years. You don't count on a guy with the experience of Matt Rhule to keep the ball going. You just don't.

So the difference maker between Pinkel and Rhule is that Pinkel 1) came from a successful coaching tree, and 2) Pinkel was with Don James when Don James (not Pinkel) won a national championship?

Well, using that logic we can pretty much take Odom off the potential candidate list, right?

I mean, Odom doesn't fulfill one requirement. He doesn't have national or conference championship experience...but he does come from a somewhat successful coaching tree (the Pinkel tree). That's the kind of tree that is above average in height and color, but overshadowed by much taller and vibrant trees that constantly steal the Pinkel tree's wind.

Sounds logical.

My problem is why the hell would we promote a DC with no head coaching experience to head coach with an offense that finished near the bottom in almost every offensive category? That's a lot of pressure on the new OC to turn that shite show of an offense around.

To answer your question kills, yes. Remove Odom from the list as well.

He's not ready for this job. If the guy we hire fails hopefully he'll be there ready for us with experience. If he's moved on to somewhere better that's fine too.

People always tell me I'm crazy because Kingsbury wants to coach his alma mater and in the same breath will tell me that Odom won't come back if we pass him over now.

Before I mentioned that this isn't a multiple choice test. If it were, and Odom and Rhule were the two choices, I pick none of the above.

Okay...I thought you were one of the people sucking Odom's cock. If not, nevermind. We may agree more than you realize.

Not me. I don't care about Odom. Kul is the real success story...not Odom. He's been here one frickin year for Goodness Sakes!

What about Mark Richt? Supposedly he's not committing to UGA...

Two weeks ago I said the only guarantee was that 50% of fans would be pissed off at the #Mizzou hire. Can I up that percentage? Man...

After reading this thread, Gabe has a darn good point.

Missouri will always be a split state. Missourians will never agree on anything other than the Cardinals are the best MLB franchise in existence.

But, please elaborate on the darn good point...

His options are dwindling. Syracuse supposedly has a guy. Maryland might.

Okay, then it's down to Maryland or Temple for him. I just don't see us being anything more than a courtesy interview.

I'd be very surprised (and angry, tbh) to be wrong.

Oh man I can't believe I missed this thread, was on the golf course, how do you shoot a +5 on one nine and then +10 on the next? fricking golf

Anyways, to the topic at hand.

Odom is a mistake. I say this because the current team is out of control. These guys are doing w/e the hell they want and the coaches are literally rolling over for them. 5-7 season, they should have their heads down and working on football, not thinking about other shite. I want a clean slate.

New HC, New OC, New assistants.

I'm done with this, "he went to Mizzou so he's a good candidate". I'm fricking done with it. Mizzou Made? I don't care about where you're made, I care about getting Mizzou its first Conference Championship since the 60's. You can slap "MADE IN GEORGIA" on all of our players if they win 13 games and take us to the CFP.

Done with the true son bullshite, it's a stupid myth that Mizzou keeps rehashing and it's done NOTHING for the University. Pinkel is from Ohio, not Missouri.

Hire someone with experience, P5 experience. Need an offensive mind and a recruiter.

Herman or Fedora. If they both say no, go throw money at Richt.
