My prediction for his return? At Mississippi St in week four. It's the first SEC game and (for dramatic effect) happens in his home state, where he got shot.

Per Howard Richards, Hardy sustained a spiral fracture in his left femur from the bullet impact. Complete functional recovery for that kind of fracture is estimated at 8 months.

It's safe to assume then, that Dr Richards wasn't the one who gave Hardy the medical clearance to get ready for the season.

So far Hardy has been given medical clearance to watch practice while wearing a leg brace.

That seems to contradict the description given of "fully healed"

"Healed", and "full restoration of function and capabilities", are not remotely the same, unfortunately.

Hoping Hardy can come back full strength. With that said, happy for Robert’s and his opportunity to be rb1. He probably had opportunities to leave but stayed and did the work. Hope he has a great season.

He shouldn't take a snap unless he is in the same shape he was last season. His game relies too much on balance and burst to do otherwise. I have been pessimistic about his return and this is one of the most difficult bone injuries you can recover from. Between the stabilization required for the bone to heal, small/large muscle group damage/atrophy, getting back to just walking is a serious recovery task. The road from being able to walk normally to being in SEC RB1 condition is equally demanding.

The comment was "fully healed" not just "healed"
What is not remotely the same is watching from the sidelines in a leg brace and weight training, speed drills and participating in walk throughs.

A difference that makes no difference is no difference. Ask someone who's been in traction some time the difference between "fully healed", and walking.

Wow. Hardy has gone from watching on the sidelines in a leg brace to being in traction for some time, yet somehow has managed to work on speed drills after a weight training session.

Hardy was not medically cleared to play, he was medically cleared to start rehab. He is still not medically cleared to practice

Honestly, I assumed people knew that. Everybody just hears what they want to hear these days. I still say he wants his comeback to start at the scene of the crime, in Mississippi against one of the state schools. That's my storybook version anyway.
