I never got the idea of hating an entire conference, tbh. Never hated the SEC (conversely, I never loved the Big12, though).

Meh. I didn't pay attention, but how many of the haters were actually from the Big 12. Outside of the Big 12, I'm going to bet hardly anyone knew if Mizzou was top, middle or bottom of the conference. It all sounds like jealousy to me. If you can't beat them on the field (OM vs. TU and A&M vs. OU) then trash them any other way you can to try to bring the perception of the conference down.

I just read the article and it was extremely positive in regards to Mizzou and A&M.
This is a sarcastic thread, right? If not, I guess I missed all of the Mizzou hate in the article.
Also, which rant thread posted this article?

The article was positive. I was talking about comment section.
You should check the comments from readers.....a buttload of hurt
Many comments saying "media bias for SEC" pay no attention to others who tell them "It was coaches comments, not media"
I agree with ThirdSpur about never loving Big 12....

Killz, the hate is in some of the comments under the article.

We should have stuck with the Big 8! Once the bevo crowd took over the conference was screwed!
Go Tigers!
Go Tigers!

Oh...for some reason I don't have access to the comments section. Perhaps my work's barracuda network is blocking it.

Wait, you mean there are uninformed comments being generated on the internet? Excuse me, I've got to go correct each and every one of them.

There is no doubt that some of those remarks are from former BIG XII members. Too much butt hurt to be otherwise.
It is starting to sink in with Missouri's former conference mates that Missouri stepped up into a much better situation that they themselves would all rather be in and its killing them inside.

Truth.
And the fact that it's right up in the face of our old blood rivals (KU and Tex) is really inflaming them.
The XII footprint is now an amalgam of Big 8 leftovers and Texas trash, with WV sewn on.
It's still just a matter of time before that shack caves in.

More like West Virginia tethered on and floating out in the bay. Lol
That conference is going to have a difficult time maintaining itself.

I don't think WVU is long for the conference. Even with whatever GOR that was signed, I wouldn't be surprised if both sides eventually agree to walk away. Where the Big Whatever goes from there, who knows. I thought they should have went hard after BYU. Kind of like the ND fan base, the Mormons are really spread out through out the country. Boise State after that? Just not a ton of TV's that direction.

The discussions with BYU broke down because they won't participate in any athletic events on Sundays. That messes up basketball. And other sports too, as tournaments often go into Sundays. That's one of the big reasons BYU is still independent. Bevo is sort of screwed, unless they could get New Mexico, or the Arizona schools to flip. And that's not going to happen. They're landlocked to the east and north, so any school they pick up would have the same issues as WVU.

I just think they're better suited if they stay west of the Mississippi. But outside of a couple of states, there's just no TV's west of the Mississippi. Maybe they could grab Missouri State.
