Clawson has built a P5 program from the ground up. They play clean, assignment sound football. He took over in 2014 and since year 4 they have been in the top 5 in scoring offense in the ACC. They are one of the least penalized teams in the country. It's smart FB and I like it.

Would you take Clawson over Napier or Clark?

Over Lane Kiffin not included because some saying he is the best available coach right now.

I like Greg Schiano.

Pass on clawson, way better recruiters out there that can be had, and way younger. He's 52, not 35, 40, 42.
Has ZERO ties to Midwest/Midlands/South. He has that East coast ties.

Recruiting is everything in SEC. You must be able to pull in the best in state and a few from out of state, with sleepers to develop.

It's not going to be Clawson. Sterk has made multiple comments about SEC experience being very important which would make Kiffen an ideal candidate. Fortunately for us Kiffen isn't coming. I get the feeling that much like the basketball search the really talented G5 coaches are not going to get a look which sux cause that's where the real talent is going to come from unless he can get a top-level SEC OC or DC. Also he wants somebody here in the next 2-3 weeks and currently successful HC's have bowl games to play. I'm concerned that he will focus in on the best mediocre guy he can find that meets his criteria and he can get here quickly and then overpay him.

I really like Norvell but I wonder if he is even going to get a look

Lane isn’t coming, but you bring up Norvell...lol

If we don’t do the right thing and hire Kiffin then Napier would be the next best hire we could make.

Napier would seem to cover a lot of Sterks criteria but I don't know. He was fired as Clemson OC and passed over for OC at Alabama. Kicking arse in the sunbelt is no guarantee of anything in the SEC.

We should at least ask Norvell. Who are we competing with- Arkansas?

Everything Nuke has brought up about Kiffen is true. He's not all that ambitious, and he's not moving somewhere cold to work his arse off recruiting. Which is fine with me.

I'm starting to get this weird feeling it might be Heupel, but I'm hoping it's just gas

FSU and Arkansas to an extent are both better jobs that can pay more than we can. This is just what’s open now. Norvell will get a “better job”

Being realistic about who will come here. I want somebody young that will bring some energy. I want an offensive coach who can put up points. Modern football is about offense. They average over 7 yards per play and run more than they throw. Only two teams in the country that can claim this. ULL and Ohio St. The fact that he has SEC roots and has coached under two great coaches are pluses.

not if he was fired by one and passed over by the other. I would tend to trust Dabo's and Saben's opinion on this one

I don't know that FSU is going to take a shot at Norvell they are already looking at Kiffen. If they don't go for Kiffen that says a lot about him. I don't agree that either FSU or Ark are better jobs. It depends on what you are looking for. FSU is a backwoods swamp university with a dingy stadium, dingy campus, and a student body that was rejected by community colleges. They don't have much going on besides football and getting drunk (and committing felonies) so you better win fast or you are out.
We could outbid Ark if we wanted, they have taken an absolute bath on their last two hires.

What about the scumbag....Urban Meyer? Just hire somebody to keep an eye on him and give Kroekee and Laurie a call and tell them that we need some money.

ReallY? Arkansas? What are you taking or smoking? Would a coach go to get killed and fired without any chance to build a foundation? Mizzou is in a lot better shape and are in an easier division than Arkansas! Look at Texas A&M! They are a much better team than Arkansas and are a better program as well. But they are not winning big as they should be getting better but are staying the same as 7-5 average. Missouri is in a lot better position in the SEC east and have beaten Arkansas for a while now. But we are going to get a better coach so we can compete in the SEC east division. Not settle for middle of the pack in the SEC. Any coach can see which school have a much better chance to compete for the division and win 8-11 wins in a season will point to Missouri over Arkansas!

After seeing how sticking us with Quinn worked out Kroenke took his money and ran.

I've still got this weird feeling about Heupel.

Dabo loves Chad Morris and he may have been one of the worst HC hires of all time.

2010 was a different time at Clemson. They were not the elite talent filled team that they are now. Dabo was forced to make some staff changes to keep his job.

Possibly, but there is also Saben and the fact that you are correct less often than a monkey flipping a coin (or playing with his feces). Just the fact that you support him should be enough to disqualify him. You should, in fact, have that much inverse power

and I'm not so sure about the Morris thing anyway. He was handed absolute shite and fired after a season and a half. Meanwhile, the team he left is kicking arse. Another reason to come to Missouri
