When he says the search is ongoing it doesn’t contradict that a hire has already been made?

LOL

If by “search” he means the entire process which will culminate with the announcement of the candidate, yes. It’s ongoing.

You just said an hour ago we had a guy and you were sure it was Anderson.

I’m going to act crazy here, but what I think he means by “search” is search

So we couldn’t have had a guy because we announced a search. Right?

“Ongoing”

But hey, I’m sure that all these back alley deals, smoke screens, single handed operations or whatever wild explanations we can come up with are all a lot more likely than the fact that it just isn’t fricking done yet.

If so, there’s going to be a lot of work for people to do again that has already been done. I guess we’ll see.

But you swore up and down 2 hours and 38 minutes ago it was done because Randy Karraker said it was.

You started a "It's Blake Anderson" thread.

Did you mean the screen writer and were talking about "Workaholics"?

Lol. You find yourself more and more confused by your surroundings every day don’t you.

I can’t believe you’re saying bass is wrong? You two were getting along so swimmingly these past couple of days. He’s pot committed but there is still time for you to save face.

This has nothing to do with Bass. At 2:04 PM you started a thread stating that Anderson was the coach.

In your post above, you stated that the search isn't over. If the search isn't over, Anderson can't be the coach.

Please try to keep up.

With a working career that includes dozens of hirings of key employees, let me extrapolate.

Did Sterk just suddenly decide to Fire BO on Friday? NO, he knew it much earlier.

And he surely was smart enough to start serious shopping back then. Any half-smart executive "shops" for potential hires even when things are stable. One knows a sudden departure can happen at any time.

Now, some folks seem to think Sterk fired BO and then realized, "Oh shite! Now I've gotta find a replacement."

Even if that silly possibility happened, he wouldn't feel free to announce that he'd name a new coach in a week and a half, to two weeks.

I submit that he got his man and had all but the details in place before he fired Barry.

The current "search" is for several reasons: To show he's being thorough, to find a plan B (His hire could be hit by a bus), to feel out future choices, to get useful ideas from the candidates, to assess the attractiveness of Mizzou, and a slew of other little reasons.

Of course, I may be wrong, but most execs don't fire (short of unexpected, serious cause) without having someone ready to step in.

And, then again, Sterk may be a naive idiot.

It is awful nice of you to refer to 808 as "an insider type" over on the coaching change board.

quote:

Sundvold has also refuted it and of course the idea that we already have a coach hired which a few insider types have been saying.

He’s not the only one that’s said it. Of course, there are other “insider types” who say that Sterk is very close to getting axed.

Yeah, but 808 is right more often than not. Certainly more often than JQ.

This is a possibility. But I would be surprised if he didn’t have a flag up the flagpole well before today.

If I was an AD, I’d have so much fun floating rumors and sending up smoke signals just to watch media types twist.

That’s why I think they stir the pot. This actual search is a lot more boring than the news media is making it out to be. But that doesn’t generate hits or subscriptions.
