Let's not get carried away, because we lost to Vandy and Kentucky last year. You know that those teams are looking at Mizzou as W's.

Very true but if we had an offense that could score a touchdown or two we would have won.

Good. The fact that they didnt do that last year is why they won.

They won because Mizzou had no offense. If Mizzou had at least an average offense we would have won the East last year with the Vols being our only chance at a loss in the East. We would have beat Florida and Georgia.

There really is not a lot to say we will have an offense this year. The Oline is still a mess and without that the rest doesn't matter. Could waste a really good D much like last season.

It should be improved enough to win a couple more games, but haven't yet seen reason to think it will be better than that

And we almost lost to UConn but that was last year....this year we're going in dry.

How many games we win will depend how good our defense is. We know our OL and RB will be the biggest problem. I still think our defense can win at least 7-8 games.

How did that work in 2015? D was rated 6th overall by CBS Sports. I guess if they were rated 1st in the Nation, the D would have scored more points??? Good lawd.

Here's a new concept for you MizzouBS...team sport.

Odom will be a defense first kind of coach. Our OL can't be much worse, QB, WR, kicking game, and RB's will be better.

If we can win the WV game our schedule is set up pretty good. The toughest games all have easier teams the week before and 2 weeks between LSU and FL. Playing Tennesee and Arkansas the last 2 games of the year will be the toughest back to back week games we have.

Being a lifelong D guy I can see why you say this BUT I hope he doesn't get involved in the offense or he could be Muschamp 2.0.

I had this dream where all the AD decisions were made by a vote of this board. Then I woke up and realized nope, it was still Rhoades.

Felt soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
relieved.

I agree he should stay away from the offense.

I wouldn't have a problem if he installed a little of the Memphis offense if the offense struggles.

Coach Odom getting involved in the offense is a concern. The biggest concern with offense is what can Heupel do with a weak OL and maybe weak at the RB position. His last year as OC at OU the line allowed the most sacks in the nation. How he handles the DL in the SEC will be the most important job he will have this year.

If the OL is good to great we could win 9-10 games. If OL is okay 7-8 wins and if they are terrible 5-6 wins.

I wouldn't read anything into the spring game.
They basically installed a "show" offense and defense the practice before the spring game.

Looked at the West Virginia defensive depth chart. It will be there biggest weakness. They will lose 8 starters on D. This should help our biggest weakness the OL. They will lose all four LB's and a back-up. The lose the starting NT and both DB's. They will lose there best defensive player at SS. He missed most of last year with a ACL injury. He is predicted to be picked in the first round.

This will help out our offense playing against a very inexperienced defense.

The WV offense will be solid. They will be only losing a few players. Returning the top reciever and a good QB. They will be playing against one of the top defense's in the country and that should slow there offense down.

What I like about Coach Hype, he will identify and adapt to our weaknesses. If he perceives our OL to be a major weakness he will adjust with a screen game, quick slants, hot passes and quick routes and counter with an occasional out and up. This is what he did last year at USU.

Henson last year was too stubborn to acknowledge our weakness on the OL and RB and tried to run business as usual. This difference in coaching philosophy will elevate our O to average.

Make no mistake, we will ravage Vandy and UK. The players were humiliated and want revenge.
