7-5?

Why should it?
It’s clear he’s not the answer.

Can you fire him with a winning record?

6-6 should be fireable given how poorly and miserably he pissed away two wins.

Doesn’t matter at this point tho. No matter what record he ends up with shouldn’t save his job.

Lock will be gone anyway. This is the chance to reset.

Does Hall redshirt and does Odom land a grad transfer QB like Bryant? If so there’s a case for keeping Odom. If not move on if there’s a coach that Sterk thinks is clearly better that also interested.

I can't imagine that 6-6 saves him. 7-5 and beating a decent team in a bowl might give one more year (not my druther, though).

But Sterk has two choices: Get a new coach, despite another "rebuilding"...or more of the same.

I can't imagine anyone who wants more of the same.

The bowl game won’t factor into his decision. Sterk will have to make his decision right after the Arkansas game.

Hell NO. Odom, Dooley and Hill should have been fired walking off the field last night.

7-5 or below...fire 'em Sterk!

I can see Sterk at the Vandy game, looking at the empty seats, and saying, "Yup, we've lost them."

It isn't simply win/loss record at this point. Few fans still give a shite.

Exactly. Sterk can certainly look at Odom's overall body of work and see he has no signature wins. He beats up on the pud, cupcake teams and loses to any team with a pulse, and many times, in embarrassing fashion. This should not cut the mustard in Sterks mind and should expect better results. By now it should be clear to him that it's time to move on from Odom.

It does if he beats a conference team with a winning record, which looking at our schedule left, that’s only Florida

48 hours ago I would have said he comes back with a bowl appearance. With the way we have lost some games and with Sterk's reaction, I truly question if he comes back.

I was all for sucking it up and giving him at least a 4th year even if this year wasn't great. But again, with the way some of these losses have come about, I'm done with him.

While tied to record, I suspect $$$$ will speak louder than anything. He could be in trouble even if we win up but only draw 35,000-40,000 to the last 2 games. More importantly...is there any grumblings from the big money donors?

I haven't heard it but that's not to say it's not there. It sure seemed louder with KA.

You can't sell me 6-6 this year.

We went 7-5 last year with basically the same team.

18 or so starters returned?

And you get worse?

That's coaching. The schedule was manageable to get 8 wins this season and Odom is going to fail miserably.

The issue is this, 4-8, 7-5, 6-6.....next year you have no QB, so what's the ceiling there 6 wins? So you go 4-8, 7-6, 6-6, 6-6, who the frick will be in the stands for year 5 of Barry Ball?

We’re gonna win here. And we’re gonna do it the right way. I’ve seen damn dark days. These aren’t dark days.

Do you think he'll be an analyst like Butch Jones next year ?

I said before the season that 8 wins was the floor vs the schedule. Regardless of what Sterk decides to do, the team lost to the two teams it had to beat to be considered a move forward after last season. They led both games late and lost on the final possession. There was no talent disadvantage in either game. Clean play would have led to a double digit road win and another vs a top 15 team at home.

Lock went a combined 32-63 for 369 yds, 0 TDs and 2 INTs. They scored a combined 12 points in the second half while giving up 24. They had 18 total penalties.

Sterk has no reason at this point to have much confidence moving forward.

He's likely going 7-5

I would think the decision would be based on more than record

Wow N_Nuke, While I admire your technical expertise, I think that is the first post where I recall you intimating that BO may not be the answer. Amen alum brother, just take the leap of hope in change and jump on the wagon full fledge. I understand if you resist. Like the MoPed, you know you want to get on, but you worry bout your rep and being seen. It's okay, the water is warm, join in.
