Hearing Derek Dooley’s contract as #Mizzou OC is three years, $2.7 million. Abou 200k more per year than Josh Heupel made.

Ah yes. Mizzou dropped 51 on that garbage team.

Tyler Bray was a FR in 2010

Coradell Patterson was a 2012 JUCO transfer

Raijon Neal was a Fr in 2010

Marlin Lane was a Fr in 2011

Justin Hunter was a Fr in 2010

Mychal Rivera was a 2010 JUCO transfer

This is no defense of the hire or his failure as a college HC, but the UT fan base saying he couldn't find talent is false.

He’s getting paid 900k per season, clearly BO believes that DD can do a great job.

I don’t see it, but you never know.

Let me clarify. Weren't those good recruits actually committed to UT before Dooley got there? Didn't he get to UT late? they were actually recruited by Kiffins staff before he bolted to USC late after the season. Or do I have that wrong?

Now that the anger has worn off, who knows, maybe this guy has some innovative shite planned. we didn't interview him, Fisch was the obvious guy, so there must be a reason for Dooley. Some people laughed at the Heupal hire after he was exiled to Utah State.

Pretty sure they were guys that filled in the gaps when UT lost 6 recruits after Dooley was announced on January 16th.

His 2011 and 2012 classes were both top 20 classes and had 19 total 4* players in them.

Regardless. I don't like the hire.

OK... I am on to you guys now. I take a day off from the board to visit relatives and you all pretend that you hired Derek Dooley as your new OC. You had me going for a good ten seconds. I admit it.

You can stop now.

I’m shocked! I never dreamed Dooley would be named the OC. I really have no words for this other than.....Bye Bye Drew Lock!

I do like the all in nature of this hire. It's either going to work out really well or we are getting a new coach so it will be resolved one way or the other

This hire was to satisfy Lock who has been clamoring for a pro-style offense when we don't have pro-style offensive talent. But you never know!

Former Mizzou player that likes the Dooley hire.

When has Lock ever clamored for a pro style offense?

Why would he want to have a complete departure from our current scheme for his SR year?

Why would a guy who has never coached a QB in his life satisfy our QB?

Let’s call it like it is. BO couldn’t get the guys he really wanted, so wound up here. It sucks because our fan base was at least optimistic about returning to a winning mentality with promise for the future.

This hire gives none of that. We are left with no promise or optimism. Only the slight hope that it’s better than what EVERYONE thinks it will be.

So, either Mizzou has just wasted time and money on BO and Dooley, and we start all over again in a year or two (which by the way would totally piss me off. Seriously, this would be the worst case scenario for Mizzou given the GP era), or they actually produce.

Unfortunately, I don’t think this is a combination that will produce. It both makes me sad, and pisses me off. Maybe Sterk is just waiting for the SEZ to be completed and biding his time. No necessarily a bad move. I’m just tired of waiting year after year.

I’m getting too old to keep caring if this university is going to actually give a shite.

Gabe DeArmond
?
@GabeDeArmond
And if it keeps him? Drew has said he wants a guy who runs a pro style offense and has NFL experience. Check and check.
