Should be Mason or Staggs. Most won't know Staggs, but the guy is smart. He turned down a DC position 2 years ago just to study offenses at Auburn for a year so he could understand the mind of an OC. Then immediately got hired as a DC.

Either Staggs of CC or or DAVID REEVES, UAB . Either would work IMO

Again why some of you still don't get it! He can't recruit! That maybe why Drinkwitz wanted someone else as a DC that can recruit top players! So far Drinkwitz is doing a fantastic job at Mizzou! So far he is the best hired Mizzou ever had since Dan Devine.

I don't get it, Lefty. If drink is getting good and best hired staffs, Odom would be good DC.

I guess you didn't get the point of DC position. Drinkwitz probably wanted someone who can do a better job in recruiting top players in the St. Louis area. Odom might be partly responsible for the St. Louis schools to block Mizzou staffs from making any contact to top players. That is a red flag. No need bring negative back to Mizzou. Move on and find a better fit for Mizzou and a need to get away from Odom's system since it didn't work at Mizzou. Walter was like Odom 2.0. Time to move on and get someone fresh and can get top players in the St. Louis area and ESL. That is why there is more to his current staff is making waves in recruiting right now. DC was the last missing link and got to get it done in order to compete in the SEC east division. Couldn't beat Florida and Georgia due to offense too good. Same for MSU. He had no answer for the fix. Good idea to let him walk and get someone better and can get players to focus on the air attack more. Once again Walter was from the last held over. Look at Bo Pelini from LSU. He is gone. Why? I guess you need to see that Drinkwitz knows what he is doing to make it work at Mizzou. I trust in Drinkwitz. All of you should since he is a lot better in evaluating players and coaches. Odom isn't one of them.

Too much baggage and Odom is not a charismatic person. I've known turtles with more personality.

I would like to see Derek Mason.

Aw, I was just being sarcastic about Odom. Let's all just believe Drink'll pick a good coach.

I want Mason but I doubt we will open the check book for him.

The coaches we can afford and would probably stay around would be like the Coastal Carolina guy or the UAB guy.

Mason and Muschamp - they just seem like they'd be here for one year and cost more than Mizzou would shell out.

One thing I notice Drinkwitz is targeting someone who knows the NC/SC and the surrounding areas. Since that is where he is going with recruiting and not much with Texas. Walter was an odd one with no connection to NC/SC and the surrounding areas. Glad Mizzou didn't go after Bryan Harsin for HC. Dodge a bullet there. He might do well at Auburn but probably not at Mizzou due to not being a good recruiter.

I wouldn't be surprised but he could go with his former App State D-Coordinator - Dale Jones. He could probably recruit well in that NC/SC area.

ODumb is a loaded gun pointed at the face when it comes to the Zou. He’s never coming back again and for good reason.

That said. I’ll take the brightest mind we can get that’s able to both coach up and design high quality schemes.

Masons pay is based on what Vanderbilt owed him. They pay his contract minus his salary from his new position. We paid Walters 900k. We could go 1 mil for Mason.

Staggs from Coastal would be better and he knows the Carolinas.
