I don't think we have to be cautious even though Odoms last season and Wyoming loom over us. But if we're being honest, Odom bet on Kelly Bryant, and we all thought that was a safe bet.

We're a solid program with alot of talent at the most important position, QB. We have assistant coaches that want to work and build something with Drink. We have a schedule that's perfect to stir enthusiasm.

And it isn't unprecedented for all the cards to fall in place for a non traditional power. Remember Colorado, Art Briles is an a$$, but no one wanted any part of playing Baylor his 2nd and 3rd year there. And then there is Iowa State, yes Iowa State! And even the fat man and Kansass.

It's our turn boys, I can feel it.

The atmosphere around this program is kinda electric atm imo. Even peak GP years are rivaled with a guy with a season and change in the program.

Drink understands these kids in a way Odom certainly never did or even GP I think. He’s savvy, intelligent, and is like a kid in a candy store.

Unlike Odom, I feel like throwing caution to the wind and saying with confidence we win at least 9.

I think were still 2 years out from any type of SEC championship type run. Bazelak is good, but I'm not convinced with his deep ball. The QBs coming in are promising. We still need depth and talent upgrades in certain areas like LB and RB. But, that can be addressed in this class. Along with WR if burden flips.

If Drink stays and continues to recruit the way he has started, then I think we can look to the future as very optimistic.

I think 9 wins is very doable. Especially with a bowl game. But, 8 wins is not a bad season and is something to build on for next year.

Go back to his PFF ratings in the first half of the season before his hand injury. He was tops in the league (top 2 or 3 depending on the week).

I've allready said I think 2023 is the year it comes together, but I do think the next 2 years will be respectable. If we beat the teams we're supposed to beat and steal one here and there, I'm good.

What I hope to see is Drink expanding the list of those we are supposed to beat.

I think we'll know on 9/11 if we have a team capable of 9 wins. My guess is that during SEC media days they will pick UGA, Fla, KY then Mizzou in that order. If we beat KY in week 2 then 9 wins is a real possibility and the rest of the conference will know Mizzou is on the move. Even if we don't beat KY, I still feel good about the direction we're going.

Bazelak has plenty of holes in his game but he should be "good enough" with a competent crew around him. We need a running game that is borderline elite to get back to the SEC CG.

One key was the DC and now that is taken care of and will be a lot better. Good back up and depth are questionable. It takes time to get the roster fix. But Drinkwitz can get the team to perform much better this year than last year. It is about building the program. Give him 2 more years to get it done.

Looking at the schedule and what is coming back for the other SEC teams we play I think the bare minimum expectations for this season should be 7-5.

If we win every game we are supposed to and all the 50/50 games then we could be 9-3. That 3rd game against UK (still pains me to say that) and at Boston College are the 50/50 games I'm most concerned about. ?

If Drink and Co. can pull an LSU type upset *cough* Florida *cough* Mizzou could possibly be a 10-2 team.

I'm gonna go with 8-4 (5-3). I think they'll win all the games they are supposed to and lose at least one 50/50.

The Rock M podcast asked whether Mizzou fans would rather have an 8-4 season that Mizzou wins all the games they are "supposed to" plus the 50/50 games or a 6-6 season where Drink pulls off an upset over an UGA/A&M/Florida type team. At this point in Drink's tenure I'd prefer the 8-4 season.

Am I crazy in saying the Gaytors will be an unknown? No Toney. No Pitts. No Trask. No Grimes.

That offense of theirs will be green AF.

Not crazy at all. They're getting a lot of hype for losing all that talent. I thin they are a wait and see team.

Nope. Every one is still in love with that Mullin hire.

If Drinkwitz could do it at Appalachian State, he can do it at Missouri too!

If he can consistently connect on the deep ball he’s going to be borderline elite.

He’s also going to have some pretty dangerous catch and run guys with Mookie, Lovett, Badie and Young. His short/mustang accuracy could lead to several big plays with these guys.

No need for caution, Drink is the real deal. If we can keep him around we will in the SEC in the next 5 years, I guarantee it

The sad sap PD posters over on that garbage forum appear far more uptight about the cautious hope.
