Berk showed glimpses, particularly earlier. Personally, I think Mauk gets all of the UF game. If he shites the bed and throws 3 or 4 INT's, I wouldn't be surprised to see them burn the redshirt the following week. Mauk might still start in that scenario, but Printz would have then had 2 weeks to prepare. Just my thoughts with absolutely zero knowledge.

With Franklin out, I have no idea which QB gives Mizzou the best chance to win. All I can hope for is that Pinkel, Hill, and Henson know which QB gives Mizzou the best chance to win, and they play him. If it's Mauk, play Mauk. If it's Printz, play Printz. If it's Berk, play Berk. If it's Sasser, play Sasser.

this is probably the correct response. as much as we like to think we know, coaches know more. I guess we can just trust they are making the right decisions.

I agree with Gabe on PowerMizzou. If Mauk comes out and lays an egg in the first half against FL, you put Printz in for at least a few series to begin the second half. I really think we see Printz at some point in the next 3-5 weeks (while Franklin is out). It would be nice to have another year of eligibility for Printz and to separate MM and Printz's classes, but at 6-0 and leading the SEC East, we have to win NOW....

The more I think about Berk, the more I think things would be different this year.

Last year he played behind a triage OL.
Last year he ran plays called out by Yost.

This year the OL is in much better shape with lots of experience.
This year Henson is doing a fantastic job. No more "wtf was that", moments

I agree 100%. I strongly suspect Pinkel and the coaching staff also agree 100%.

I had my first WTF Henson moment when he called the sideline screen pass on 2nd and 2 in the 3rd quarter vs UGA. Why pass 3-5 yards behind the line of scrimmage when you only need 2 yards. We lost yards on the play and the game changed immediately in UGAs favor.

I have to agree with that.

But hey, it finally came in the 6th game!

Henson looks so much better in his first year then Yost did four years

Yeah. There is just a feeling of rational thinking when watching the offense. He's a zillion times better.

Man I keep wavering on this. I think I still try to preserve Printz's redshirt. Franklin looked like dog shite last year too, granted he had injuries himself in addition to the line injuries. But what's to say Berk would look better with this line just like Franklin has. Not sure I'd jump straight from Mauk to Printz, at least not in the Florida game.

I say go with whoever gives us the best chance to win. We're in the drivers seat in the East right now. Can't afford to take chances and hope. If Printz is the best option, burn the shirt and go with him. If it's Mauk, or Berk, great, go with them.

We lose 11 starters this year. Next year will be rebuilding. If we're going to do it, this is the time.

Yeah, gotta think Berk would get the call before Printz. Guy has definitely put in the effort in the weight room, and had a good showing in camp. It's not like he's just resigned himself to being 3rd string and gave up. He should get the call before Printz.

I've warmed up on Berk throughout the day. He's going to come into the game and lead us to the SEC Championship Game after Mauk has a bad 1st half showing.

I have to disagree on Berks. And this is coming from someone who thinks he has real potential. However, he's not very accurate, completing less than half his passes when he played last season-and doing the same throughout the spring and fall camps.

I like Berks, but it looks to me like Printz is the real #3 on this squad, and maybe the real #2 if it wasn't for the redshirt.

Whoever gives this team the best chance to win is who should play. GP and the staff owe it to the seniors and the rest of the squad to do so. While we all hope this is the first of many years like this one has started, you can't bank on it, and it's vitally important to finish this season out as well as possible.

Link with offseason stats?

Saw them earlier, but can't find them now.. thought Berks had decent numbers and zero turnovers. Knew they were better numbers than Mauk.

I think Printz had the best. I'll see if I can find them.

Printz has been practicing with scrubs on a limited basis and as a redshirt player probably hasn't talked with Henson in over a month. He's so far behind the curve at this point in the season it's silly to even talk about pulling his red shirt. Plus, Pinkel already said they wouldn't pull it unless it was absolutely a requirement.
