I don't see this. A defense loaded with talent that took a step back this year.
Definitely the difference between 9-2 and 8-3, maybe more.
11 games in and the secondary still can't consistently stop BIG plays.
He may have the ingredients to be a great coordinator, but he was not ready for SEC competition, IMO.
I guess I hope he is next season.

The secondary is terrible. The d lost the USC game. He isn't even top 30 at this point.

I think Batoon played too much zone instead if green dogging with the MLB and playing man to man. Neither coordinator was nomination worthy IMO.

I did miss that 40% blitz rate everytime the secondary got picked apart.

It's where Hicks had value. It kept the RBs from chipping the edge and it sped the QB up. Putting him in coverage as frequently as they have exposes him and gives the QB too much time.

I will not miss Hicks. Rodriguez looks like he's the real deal.
