The 7 footer that we have now has only this one year of eligibility, but they are trying to get him 2.
They are saying that it is 50...50 between Mizzou and UNC for the services of Love in which he will make his decision Tuesday evening.

Wiltmore, 7’2” from Memphis, committed for 2020.

Would anybody be interested in McKinney's old teammate at Vashon in Kobe Clark?

So are we pretty much out on Josh Christopher? I know before the season he said he would visit for the Florida game but I’m guessing that did not come to fruition? 247 has him 100% to Michigan

I’m not sure we need a developmental 6’7” wing.
We need a scorer, still. Even with Pinson’s emergence.

Does coach encourage a couple of players to transfer? Or one?

We offered 21 players for what is now two slots.
I’d wager whoever we sign isn’t on that list.
Something is seriously wrong.

the Martin is a good recruiter thing hasn't been working out very well

Not to make excuses for him, but maybe these players aren't turned on by coming to Mizzou. With the exception of the Porters name the last great player from the state that came to Mizzou? I come up with Peeler.

Sometimes we have to take a look at all of the factors which encompasses recruiting. With a defense first mindset he was able to convince Jaylen Brown to travel from Georgia all the way to Berkeley and pair him with Ivan Rabb.
From what I hear, top prospects love what Cuonzo is about. His biggest issue is pairing players together that want to compete. So having a top 10 prospect love you is one thing, having that prospect know he will be on the floor with other talented individuals is another.
Like Cal with Rabb, he needs another player to step out on faith like the Porters which gets you the ability to sign other consensus top players in a class.

Yeah. That’s the coach’s job to change, pretty sure.
I’d say Kareem Rush was the last great in-state player.

All of the factors end with results. His results are some of the worst in the league.

Results alone ain’t it. It’s the brand on your feet, the environment you play in, and the players you got coming with you.
Talk to young men today and it’s about building their brand and getting better to achieve long term goals.
We are missing two of the three things I said above, and it’s like a chicken and egg situation. Fans want and need success/players to feel energized. Players need that environment and one player to make that jump so they can pair up.

How do you judge great? Denmon from a college career could be mentioned.

Results are big but not all there.
the 2018 Class has been very, average. The problem with it only being average is it should have been much better considering the names that came through in 2017.
The atmosphere isnt exciting. We're not winning at solid rate. Coach isnt landing players he should be. Just nothing going for it right now. We get excited about almost beating middle of the road teams. The program is a toxic mess.

And we need to deal with the reality of college basketball that the Adidas scandal has shown. A certain percentage of the top players are only available to schools willing and able to bid on them.
So (I hope) that eliminates MU's chances at some of the top players from the start.
I would say this is a small, small percentage. But given the NCAA's absolute lack of oversight effort at any big school that makes some money, it may not be. "If we can buy our 5-stars, we can buy the 4-stars we like as well to fill out our bench."

Coach is running a boring-assed system. Our offense is a fireable offense. I suspect an assistant won’t be with us next year because of it. My point is that the coach shares some responsibility for the environment.
The coach is also responsible for the players coming in. We have great facilities. We have a better basketball history than Cal. You’re going to have a hard time selling to me that he could recruit Cal and can’t recruit to Mizzou because Mizzou is a much worse product than Cal.

4 star players are getting tens of thousands.

Let's just be honest...Mizzou just doesn't turn these recruits on as a destination.
The Missouri 10 a few years ago in football and we ended up getting the 10th rated payer out of those 10, only.(D. Parker) We wined them and dined them and 1 player. Rush and Peeler were the last big time local basketball players that we got and they were from the KC area. What does Hansbrough, Lee, Otto Porter, J. Tatum, The Porter brothers(committed to Washington) Beal, Ben McLemore, etc. all have in common?
