McKinney would be great in the role that Geist has now.

He's just a JR as well (when comparing him in the Ramey matchup). Has a full year to develop further.

I don't really follow the recruiting side of things, but why wasn't Mizzou in on the in-state Ochai Agbaji? He's from the KC Northland which is a Mizzou stronghold area in Kansas City, Missouri. From what I've heard it sounds like we didn't even pursue this kid in our own back yard...

He’s not highly rated (well outside the top 150). He could be underrated. But that’s probably the reason.

Mizzou took Pickett as a developmental wing in this class. Agbaji is a better athlete and will probably end up being the better college player. Pickett might help Mizzou land players like Hall, Liddell, McKinney and Hargrove.

Right now McKinney is Mizzou's to lose. At the moment 247 seems to think that Liddell is 100% Mizzou, but that could change. I think that Hargrove is waiting to see if Kansas offers.

I still want Trent Williams in this upcoming class.

McKinney and Liddell and the rest is gravy.

Mizzou will need more than just Liddell as far as bigs.
Puryear graduates. Jontay and Tilmon might leave for the NBA early. We don’t want Liddell, Nikko and Smith as the only bigs.

If he's good enough to get a scholarship offer from kU (among several other power conference schools), I think he's plenty good for us.

I suppose if it's about making recruiting in-roads that would make the most sense. I just would hate to see Cuonzo go full "Tim Jamieson" and completely ignore one side of the state that puts out it's own fair share of talent.

Cuonzo hasn’t ignored the west side of the state. Lathon and Bishop both 4 star recruits were offered this year.
If Roman Wilson gets his academics fixed this year, then he will get an offer for the 2019 class. He’s probably going to juco though.
Mizzou has also been checking on Tyem Freeman out of Springfield.

There’s also a few recruits with offers in eastern kansas

#Mizzou has offered Webster Groves point guard Courtney Ramey. Hope to get more info tonight

Mizzou Has Offered Courtney Ramey did we not already offer him previously? The timing is strange.....

He wasn't showing Mizzou any interest and I guess that has changed now.

Reminds me a lot of the Ezekial Elliott recruiting saga and just afraid the dad wanted a public offer for his kid only to turn it down

Daddy Ramey has been around AAU basketball for a long time, but somehow played games with Mizzou. I dont get it.

Sam Snelling jumped into this saga quite a bit on his Twitter. Summary: Ramey indicated he was not interested in MU for quite a while. MU did not bother chasing a kid who indicated they had no chance at. UCLA and Nova have dropped out as possibilities. Now the Ramey camp is indicating they may consider MU, MU has returned interest if it has a chance.

Majic, does Mizzou have a realistic shot at Ramey?

Mizzou doesn’t offer at this stage if there’s not a good shot at landing Ramey

It's going to be tough, because Pitino just offered, but yes they have a decent chance of landing him. Mizzou wasn't an option at first, but somebody(pops Ramey) probably told Martin he had a chance after noticing Mizzou needs a pg badly.
