No ifs ands or buts...Kim has to go.
Who are some targets. I know the program is shite right now, but we need to do what's necessary to pull in a good coach. Someone who will win, but just as importantly get the fanbase back. It's a crime where this program is. We are WAY better than this.
Archie Miller?

I'd offer Archie $3.5M and 6 years.
ETA: that's probably slightly high.
Maybe start at $2.75M and step it up over the 6 years.
He's making <$1M according to USA today (which seems low)

I think that salary sounds low as well but they have extended him the last two seasons and is now on contract through 2022. Does the school not have to release his contract information since it is a private school?

1. Ben Howland. I don't care that he has been at Miss State one year. He has family in the area. Make him say no.
2. Kelvin Sampson
3. Ben Jaconson

1. Gregg Marshall 2. Archie Miller.
Y'all trying to be cheap, we have plenty of money saved from the football staff. Will take 4+mil a year at least to attract a good coach.
Don't feed me some BS about how we can't pay basketball coaches more than football. Lots of bball coaches make more the football at their schools. Coach K, Bill Self, just to name 2. Can't cheap out and expect a winning formula. Heck, Coach K makes more than Nick Saban.

You don't like coaches that win?

Not that I disagree with you, but the two names you mentioned are at basketball schools. Odom isn't making a ton, so for a proven winner, pay the basketball coach more. Mizzou will almost have to in order to turn this mess around.
We are neither a football or basketball school so the option is certainly there to go that path.

Both those guys are at nationally competitive basketball programs. Would they be willing to leave those schools for a garbage heap that is Mizzou basketball? I'm not sure they would.

win or put teams on probation?

His violations wouldn't be violations now. How has the squeaky clean guys worked for us? Mike Alden has hired 2 coaches who he thought wouldn't put us in that position and they did. Time get over that non sense.

Sampson has the added benefit of working a few years in the NBA during his show-cause period.

That's the point. Mizzou should not be a garbage heap and our history is WAY better than where we are now. Just need the right coach to get the ball rolling again.

I'll be open in about 3 years

Sampson is slimey. No thank you. He would have us on probation in less than two years.

Again folks. Look at the guys we have had and the Violations that we have had

Archie would be a grand slam hire. He may be holding out for a top ten level job, but he should be where we start. $2.5 Mill would probably be a good starting place to attract a top candidate, maybe raising it to about 3 if need be.
Other names-
Chris Mack-Doubt he'd leave Xavier for Mizzou, but it's worth a call, especially if we're willing to spend big.
Three sweet sixteens, and obviously we can see what he's doing now.
Josh Pastner-Only 38, Four tourneys in six years, top level recruiter, and he could finally be out of Cal's shadow.
Ben Jacobson-could really win big here, two thirty win seasons.
I'd be happy with any of those four, especially Archie or Mack.
