"Missouri will be an intriguing team to watch in 2019. Coach Barry Odom landed an impact transfer in Clemson’s Kelly Bryant to replace Drew Lock under center, so the offense shouldn’t drop too much on the stat sheet next fall. Bryant also has a strong supporting cast at his disposal. The Tigers return a deep backfield and three starters in the trenches. Guard Tre'Vour Wallace-Simms is among the SEC's top returning linemen and anchors a unit that allowed only 13 sacks in 2018. Receiver Emanuel Hall will be missed, and tight end Albert Okwuegbunam could leave early for the NFL. However, Johnathon Johnson and Jalen Knox are a good place to build around at receiver. Tackle Terry Beckner and linebacker Terez Hall are significant losses for coach Barry Odom’s defense, but this unit took a step forward in 2018. After allowing 31.8 points a game in ’17, the Tigers held teams to 25.5 in ’18. The schedule is also manageable. Missouri plays Florida, Tennessee and South Carolina at home, while catching Ole Miss and Arkansas in crossover play. "

MEh. Missouri doesn’t deserve a ranking until they win meaningful games at a decent rate again.

Touché. Let’s hope they don’t do any bed shitting next season.

It's hard to give this any credibility when they have Nebraska at #19.

Right, because every ranked teams win “meaningful games” at a decent rate.

Wasn't he a top head coach that could have gone to Florida or any other top schools and choose to go to Nebraska and he might be showing that Nebraska is making a push to beat some good teams.

So the team that lost to Troy, should be ranked higher than Mizzou. If that makes sense to you, you're braindead.

Nebraska finished strong. They went 4-2 over their last 6 games. The 2 losses were close Road losses to OSU and Iowa.

Martinez will be a breakout candidate next season. I would have Nebraska in the 26-35 range.

If we look at the last 6 games, their 4 wins were against:

A .500 in regular season Minnesota team at home.
Bethune Cookman who I didn't know played football at home.
A 4-8 Illinois team at home.
A 7-5 MSU at home by a score of 9-6.

I suppose that could be called finishing strong, at least in comparison to the 6 straight they lost to start the season. I'm just not yet ready to say what they did was better than Mizzou's 5-1 finish to the regular season, with a win over a highly ranked UF team. So no, not sure why they would be ranked above Mizzou.

I had them just outside the top 25 next season for that reason. They beat mostly bad teams, mostly at home. And have a solid defense over that stretch.

I still like Martinez and think he’s ready for a breakout year as a sophomore.

Nebraska might have an easier schedule next year?

This is the first time MIZZOU have been pre-ranked in the top 25 for 2019 under Barry Odom.

I thought they were pre-ranked in the top 25 for 2019 back in 2017, no?

Not so if Barry Odom was an unknown just like the rest of us did not know what to expect from Barry. Also with all that negative stuff going around at MIZZOU. No way he was pre-ranked in 2017?

Maybe it was 2018 that we were pre-ranked in the top 25 for 2019.

I think we were re-ranked at the end of 2015 for a preranking of 2016 for the year 2020.
