We did not compete for the east this year. We finished 5th in the east. I would say 8 wins is a minimum or baseline as you or JQ said. 4 wins should be cakewalks. 8 wins is only .500 in conference. 4-4 in conference is never going to compete for the east. With more pay, the expectation is quickly going to be 9 and 10 win seasons.

You know how many 10 win seasons we have in our history?

How many 10 win teams in the SEC this year?

A goal? Sure. Expectation is crazy talk though. We’ll never be not firing a coach if that’s the expectation.

Besides that, it is only realistic winning the East three times in a decade at most for any team in it. Probably once a decade for SC or Mizzou. If you think Odom can give three East titles a decade you pony up and hold on now because virtually no one else is going to do that at Mizzou with the funds and resources being pumped into so many competing programs. The homer in me would hope for more wins but there is so much competition...

That is kind of my point. We could probably win 1 out of 10 east titles whether we're paying $2.5m or $3.5m or the year after that it will be $4m. So if we are happy with stumbling on 1 every 10 years, why pay more for it? Just go out and get the next up and comer until they leave.

Man, you’re all over the place on this one. From expecting 10 win seasons to just giving up lol

There is something in between all of that. Having a consistently competitive program that when the roster aligns can compete for the East (and what comes with that). You get that with continuity. It’s very unlikely that you get that buying a G5 lottery ticket every few years.

That was not me posting that! That was someone else that hijacked my account and posted that one. Also I never use foul language anywhere! You will find that is the truth. Until someone used my username and posted foul language.

Did you know that most SEC fans did not want Missouri in the SEC? Wonder why? This is why! Missouri is cheap and does not want to spend to compete at the highest level.

The whole how many X games has Mizzou won in history is a stupid argument.

We just started playing 12 games in what, 2006? So in 13 years of 12 games Mizzou has won 10 games 5 times.

You basically get 3 rent a wins, we schedule some bottom feeder P5 team like Indiana, Purdue, Illinois, BYU, Boston College etc, so there's a 4th.

Is going 9-3 and winning a bowl game some super amazing season in 2018?

That means you went 5-3 in conference.

Hardly super high expectations.

His resources given to him now don’t match those expectations. He’s the lowest paid coach in the conference. His assistants are the lowest paid in the conference. If you want him to meet those expectations pay him and his assistants at that level.

Well venom, I'd like to help. As a bit of a linguist, I know English well (want to hear about the dropping of the schwa in Middle English? (I thought not))...I'm pretty good with French, have a working knowledge of German, know some Spanish, and have a wee dab on several other languages.

But I am now faced with one which defies my skills.

Alas, I cannot be of truly accurate assistance.

But I am really surprised at Lefty using all that vulgar language which got him booted.

Don’t pay him!

Win at a clip unprecedented in school history! It’s easy!

The bottom line is JQ isn't the AD, has no ties to the AD or anyone else, and has no opinion that matters anywhere anyplace anytime anyway.

Thank you sweet 8 pound baby Jesus

Where did you get the university won’t pay up to get a good coach? Did Sterk not pay up to lure Martin from California?

My account history got reset there for some reason. I probably had 3000 posts at one point (mostly over the Lambs going to LA). I went back one day recently. And all of a sudden I had like 7 posts in my account history.

I thought Dooley's deal was actually pretty high for an OC, especially a first-timer. But I definitely want our line coaches, RB coach, and TE coach paid higher. probably some others I haven't noticed enough yet.
