Why the hell is Nate Johnson leaving?
Posted on 12/31/25 at 5:53 pm to surgicalvenom
Johnson logged 6 tackles and 1 TFL in 9 games. Hopkins is going to be the dude on the strong side next year with Kitchen backing him up.

Johnson couldn't have thought he was going to put up big numbers in 2025 with the starters we had. The real battle doesn't begin until 2026, when we potentially replace both starters.

He's a Jr that got passed by Kitchen halfway through the season. Hopkins got his reps after he was ejected vs Mississippi State and dominated. He was going to be the 3rd DE on the strong side. Johnson got processed.

Oooga Boooga is back. Wonder how big a bag we had to drop.

Until he announces, I'll assume he's coming back.

Shemar McNeil is in the portal. Pogue is going to be coaching several new guys this spring.

Looks like Trotter just announced for the draft. LB is definitely on the portal menu now.

Boooo.
But maybe he is just testing the waters?

Bad choice, hasn't had a complete season without injury. I get the NFL is a family tradition, but going in the 6th round as opposed to the 2nd cost a player alot of money. And LBs dont tend to sign large 2nd contracts, so like RBs, that draft slot means alot.
