I would say, let's steal a few Kentucky commits but damn its a sad looking class.

I'm not sure why we're still looking to sign more high schoolers anyway.

I understand your point and agree regarding line players. Skill positions still need to be a priority. #1 for instance.

No doubt DO is special. I'd rather put $$ towards keeping him than recruit more blue chip HS kids that probably won't produce next year.

We've already got over 20 commits. How many of those are going to realistically contribute next year? How many will even be here 2 years from now? Will Drink be here?

Everything is by-the-year now. Wish it weren't, but it is

It’s like stock market. Do you gamble $10 on unproven company or buy later at $100. As far as Drink, I’m convinced if he had a better showing vs ATM or OU we would have a new coach. Hope he signed extension because he is committed to Mizzou, rather than his agent salvaging what he could when his demand dropped off.

Point of fact. Gotta hit that portal hard for trench work and a QB. Probably secondary help more so.

DT, OT QB, DE, and CB. That is a lot of portal work.

I do think the Freshman DEs are going to take big steps this offseason. I think Hopkins is going to be a good one.

Do we think Hilson is still in the fold?

Hodges reported to be flipping to Arkansas.

His hometown is less than 40 minutes from Memphis, so he’s probably been recruited by Silverfield for a few years and built a relationship with him.

Hodges knows he’s not going to see the field for the next few years at Mizzou. Marquise Davis is higher ranked recruit hopefully we can keep him around for another year to see what he’s got.

Schnucks will take care of Olugbode. The only question is whether they will ask him to wear #3. They want the chip deal to become a tradition for the best WR.

Hilson will be gone. Hopkins passed him for playing time.

Looks like Nickerson is in play to return to Mississippi State. Guess we didn't beat them down enough.

Mizzou offered DE Sefa Sackey a former basketball recruit. He is a 3* 6’8” 205lb DE. This is Sackey’s 1st year playing football. He has a 4.0 GPA and high SAT score. After the 1st month of the season he got offers from Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, Northwestern, and a lot of MAC schools. He’s also being recruited by UCLA, USC, Utah, and Virginia He is committed to Wake Forest

His high school team was 5-6 in Class VI the 2nd smallest Class in Ohio. He’s not played against the best schools or the most talented players in Ohio, but has been dominant against the smaller schools. He has moved up the recruiting sites rankings fast.

Mizzou is trying to get a last minute visit for Friday and Saturday

He is an athletic project player with a high upside.

Arkansas had 3 4* Mizzou recruits commit yesterday. Terry Hodges from Marked Tree, Ark, Danny Beale from Cherry Valley, Ark, and Anthony Kennedy jr. from Little Rock. I thought Beale was going to sign with Mizzou. The new Arkansas coaching staff is probably getting more NIL money to sign in state recruits. They are probably trying to lock up recruits from Arkansas like they have in the past.

Arkansas is probably going after Mizzou commit 3* S Brody Jones from Fayetteville too. I’m not going to be surprised if he flipped

I know this day and age a lot of high school recruits. Don’t want to put in the work, but I suspect they all occasions were coaches urge them to get in the portal to make room for other players.

Solid but not stellar class. Curious how portal period plays out. Seems like drink always signed a few key players after spring and dust settled. January will be very telling about our NIL, Drinks reputation especially with offensive skill players. A lot of pressure to replace multiple positions in a condensed window.
