It’s a little weird.

Feels like we’re taking 70 WRs.

2 run out of eligibility, one got the boot, and two may be transferring. Brown and Hall are gone after next year.

Still think we are taking too many WR and Gicinto seems like a reach where we had no need to reach.

Gicinto is a legit track speed burner who grew up loving Mizzou. He’s one I am glad to have.

He ran an 11.1 100 last spring.

For comparison Will Franklin ran a 10.9 in high school, then was clocked at 4.35 in the 40 in preparation for the draft.

Franklin was also an outside receiver. DG fits the same athletic profile that JJ and Floyd have in the slot.

DG will probably redshirt his first year. Then be a special teams only player as a redshirt freshman. Then have a shot to win the starting spot in the slot and as a returner his redshirt sophomore season. Knox will also be in this timeline.

You guys realize we are losing a bunch of WRs right?

Mason kicked off
Moore graduates
Collins graduates
Brown will be a Senior
Hall will be a Senior
Ballard will only have 2 to play

I mean we're talking about a lot of openings in the next 2 years. They need to develop new WRs yesterday.

In 2019 we'll have Ballard, JJ, and ???

Ballard will have 3 to play.

After the bowl game the only scholarship receivers are Hall, Johnson, Floyd, Smith and Wingo

Also, you have to wonder if Smith and Wingo may be considering a transfer, given they have not sniffed playing time this year.

I'm not part of the fan base that loses their head over how many 4- or 5-star recruits we have in the class, but something did jump out at my as I looked at our class.

It appears 5.8 is the cutoff for a 4 star ranking for Rivals. We have 5 recruits sitting at a 5.7 ranking.

Two thoughts. 1. It does not matter. It only matters what kind of player they become and how quickly. 2. If we were Bama, Notre Dame, Ohio St. or another member of the Glory Boy club, all 5 would be ranked as a 4 star. (What would that do to our rankings????)

Just some thoughts, nothing more.
