Besides getting these juco DLmen and holding onto that linebacker from TN and a handful of these other guys, this class isn't that important.

Every class is important when you are trying to rebuild a 10+ win team with dreams of conference/national championship. That level of thought is what leads to inconsistency on the field which then leads to lack luster fan support and the cycle of average recruiting continues.

Each player has a role. Even if it's a practice squad player who pushes our 2 deep, the kids we bring in matter.

Especially for a program that needs to develop. Losing Armstrong alone won't bury us. Losing all 3 would be bad...very bad.

The interesting thing is that the other Mizzou recruits seem to be irraited by Armstrong. Looks like he was talking crap and turned his back on the guys

That's nice and all and is true to a degree. For Bama to be Bama they have to bring it every year with their recruiting classes.

It's obvious that every recruiting class is important. That every player has a role.

In our case this year we've got the entire offense coming back, with some nice additions that were injured last year or redshirting.

We're adding some important juco guys on the DL to fill those needs. We've got something promising at LB and in the secondary.

The point is that we shouldn't panic and take 3rd choice guys for the sake of it.

Use what we have to have a good year and use that positive momentum to have a bang-up class in '18 with all the in-state and out-of-state talent which greatly surpasses the pool of talent in '17.

247 has him rated as a 3 star.

He was also honorable mention All state in class 6A D1.

People are assuming it's him since they sent out the recruiting bat signal for his area code. Sometimes rivals just plain forgets to update their pages for months, so that won't be the first place it pops up.

When we lose a player in the final week, i try to reassure myself by remembering Charles Harris and Markus Golden were no name signings on th last few days of their classes. Maybe that's what whiteside will be.

I said it once and I'll say it again,Armstrong doing what he did has pissed off the commits and current players. This was personal, even Da' Ron David took a shot at him

Apparently Armstrong committed to ND over a week ago and was still telling Mizzou coaches he was committed to us before his ND visit.
