Played ball with Boyd in another lifetime. One of his best friends growing up and I believe they are still relatively close is Evan Pratte, Director of Baseball Operations at Mizzou. Probably didn't make a difference but probably didn't hurt either. At the time Boyd went to Lafayette, Mizzou baseball (which Boyd also played) was pretty tight with the coaches at Lafayette. Mizzou has always had a pretty good relationship with that school in the STL area. Just not a ton of high D1 football talent that comes out from there. One every now and then.

I don't want to come off as being sour but when Bama fans know they just took a guy to keep him from another school. That's not good for the kid. He should have went MU or OU where he has a chance to play. On the feed Bama fans said he's gonna get lost on the depth chart. Hope that's not the case though
