Might be a good time to make a move for Skylar Thompson. Old man Bill at kstate is considering retiring......again. Mizzou is looking for a good QB for this class. He's instate and is a dual threat QB that would fit this offense.

I thought Thompson already signed? He's a January guy, so he has to make a decision soon.

January guys don't sign LOI's they sign scholarship paper work. Meaning that the school has to take them, but until they are actually enrolled in school the first week the player can choose to go somewhere else.

Ah, gotcha. I would love it if we could get him, we need to keep our best players in state. These next few weeks should be interesting, dead period ends next Friday.

Does anyone know the latest with Trevour Simms from ESL?

I know the school claimed he did not decommit but everyone has his status listed differently.

Everything I've read is he's still committed to Mizzou but we'll have to keep on him to get him. He seems to have trouble making up his mind.

I was looking at the STL All Metro teams. Seems to be some good talent coming up in the '17 and '18 classes. Hopefully Odom can start the process of locking those guys down soon.

Mizzou will have to start back to winning before they can lock anybody down.

Huge arm and does a great job avoiding the rush. Seems like Coach O wants Dual Threat QBs.

Why are we watching him? Have we offered?

The staff is thinking of offering is what I read. PM is doing a QB target post tomorrow morning with 7 names on it.

He's got a funky sidearm style passing motion. He's got good scrambling ability and reminds me a little of James Franklin's running style. He doesn't shy away from contact. Rivals has him at 6'4" and I think 194 lbs. Don't know when those measures were taken because he looks bigger in his HUDL video. That throwing motion kind of worries me though.

When you talk about side-winder throwing motions, i think of Mauk.

What makes you think BO wants a dual threat QB?

Heupel's best experience as a coach is with guys that fit what Lock is. Bradford & Jones.

Yes, his throwing motion is terrible, frankly, but that's why we hired Heupel. You can improve those types of things with coaching.

One of the first throws on his tape...he is back peddling and puts it a good 50 yards down field with a flick of his wrist. He's got a big arm.

At this stage of the game, any QB we could get will be a project and I think this kid has pretty good upside.

Likely a project and a career backup behind Lock (assuming he gets it figured out) and whoever we recruit next year.

A lock? No, I don't think so. He opened up a bit after GP retired. Think he took an OV to Nebraska. Seems fairly solid now though.

Georgia coming after him now?
