Me too. I still say retiring his dad's jersey and having them at a big ceremony would be a good thing to do.

Like the way you think! Have got to do something special like that.

I still say you all are crazy for shooting down my idea to make two different threads for bball and football recruiting. This be confusing.

I guess we have a lot of green/environmentally savvy posters.. don't want to waste the bandwidth.

I like the idea of having two. Just no one wants to control the basketball thread. I dont have a subscription to any sites so I would not be able to get enough relevant info to keep it updated.

Freedom Akinmoladun apparently named a top 3. Any idea if we are in it? The Husker board seems to think it's likely Nebraska, KState and Iowa. He just camped with us recently so I'd be a bit surprised if we didn't make his list.

Also, any idea if he prefers TE or DE? We could use more numbers at DE and on the DLine if you ask me.

Thanks M23. That's a bummer. Like I said before, maybe it was his name, maybe it was his frickin' neck, but was hoping to land him.

Here's a pretty good article from Dave Matter documenting Mizzou's recruiting process in St. Louis.

Spoiler: We aren't doing well.

“I’ve been talking to the (Missouri) coaches every now and then — not too often,” he said.

Johnson's quote in that article. Either he's rejecting phone calls from Missouri or we can talk about the whole getting outworked instate again. Not too often....sickening. They should have a hotline and at least be on the phone with him as often as rules allow. Comments like that raises real concerns.

CBC offensive lineman Brian Wallace recently listed his top five choices and left out Missouri.

And we're not in Wallace's either!?!?!

Yea, I read that Matter article and I just dont understand whats going on.

I have been a proponent previously of giving Pinkel some more time but Im not sure that it will ever matter in the long run.

I just hope the AD is not content with just "competing " in the SEC. Getting worked over in your home state is just not going to cut it.

I don't know what's going on either but for a recruit to have the perception that the staff isn't talking to him a lot is a problem.

Without question. This program is at a point where it should be doing everything it an to lock down the state.

Frustrating stuff.

Roderick Johnson isn't that interested in Mizzou. The staff probably needs to focus on realistic targets.

Don't mean to sound argumentative notsince, but every instate recruit should be a realistic target.

I must be in a pissy mood today, because this article bothers me too. Happy to see the encouraging words about Grinch, and I'm sure the kid isn't being derogatory, but it sure sounds like he's tried more than once to talk with Washington and isn't hearing back. If he's that important of a recruit, I have a suggestion. Have Washington take 5 minutes out of his day to call the kid back. Really want to stress I'm happy to hear about Grinch though. Always wondered how effective he was being.

quote:

"I've been trying to get in touch with (Missouri's) receivers coach, Coach Pat (Washington)," Brown said. "We haven't connected yet, but I'm still talking to Coach Grinch."

Safety coach Alex Grinch is Brown's recruiter at Missouri, and the 6-foot-3, 215-pound receiver said Grinch is making him feel like a priority in the Tigers' 2014 class.

"Big time," Brown added.

If you are, I must be too. This infuriates me!! I don't care if it's an important recruit or not, if a recruit wants to talk to a coach then that coach better bust his arse to call them back. That's what we are paying them for - to recruit!!! Do we need to send Andy Hill into St. Louis too? We know he's an outstanding recruiter, and you don't hear stories like this about him.

And yes, it's nice to hear about Grinch. But a receiver recruit would want to talk to the receiver coach, that just makes sense. So, someone light a fire under Washington and make it happen! Damn. How tough is this?
