Pathetic effort tonight.

1. Moorhead's play calling was terrible. Williams and Hill ran the ball 12 times combined. That is unacceptable. Why did we throw the ball 32 times when our strength is running the ball? Just awful.

2. Our pass protection was awful. So was our run blocking. We averaged 2.0 yards per carry. We ran for over 200 yards against Kentucky last year with the same offensive line. What is the difference? Coaching.

3. Why were we not stacking the box on defense and forcing them to throw the ball? They only threw 14 passes the entire game.

4. This team is extremely undisciplined. 16 penalties for 139 yards. That is on coaching, especially considering most were before or after the play.

5. Moorhead needs to get more fired up and quit worrying about hurting feelings and start demanding more of his players. Less of the catchy quotes and more instilling discipline.

6. We've got a lot to improve if we want to go to a bowl game. We have too much talent to be wasted this year. Anything less than 8 wins is unacceptable this year with the talent we have, but if we keep playing like we did tonight, we may not get to 8 wins.

7. I just want to see more discipline, better play calling, and a win next weekend against Florida.

I cannot understand what’s so hard about getting Guidry the ball about 10 yards down field on a crossing route going full speed. The guy needs the ball in his hands 6-8 times per game and 15 yard+ passes are not going to get that done.

Don’t know why we didn’t have tight ends helping in pass protection. They definitely weren’t contributing to the passing game as receivers.

Moorhead is too wrapped up in the OC role. He said preseason there wouldn’t be much “noise” on the headset when we were on offense, that discussion will take place on defense. Well Shoop is parked on his butt in the booth, so Moorhead is going to have to take an active leadership role on the sidelines when we are on defense and clean up this garbage.

That bunch formation is trash against SEC defenses as far as running the ball. Surprise them once maybe and turn the corner but after that it’s done. I made a comment in the Bama/A&M when Fisher was running it about how it was stupid then we come out with the same crap.

Kentucky came out with more energy and seemed like they really wanted the game more, so hats off to them.

I agree with the pathetic effort and blame coaching.
The play calling was terrible, and to me it never seemed like we made any offensive adjustments. Did we ever end up giving a tackle help on their DE? Did we ever line up and just run right over him a few times instead of letting him pin his ears back and go?

Hopefully the coaching staff learns a lot from this.
It was Mooreheads first SEC game, so now he may get that things are different.

Stoops outcoached the hell out of him last night.

Fitzgerald should never throw more than 20 passes in a game this year. We need to run the football. Hill and Williams should combine for at least 30 carries a game, plus Fitz getting at least 10 carries a game. We should be around 70% run to 30% pass.

A 70/30 split would probably carry us to an 8-9 win season based on schedule this season. Likely good for a loss at LSU, definitely a loss at Bama and probably toss ups with Uf and Aub. I’m a believer in the 4 year cycle where if things are on track, given the current state of the SEC, we would be able to compete for the west every 4 years. A developed passing game gives us that chance. Without it we don’t have a chance. At this point I say roll the dice and keep moving forward with the plan. We will know the next two weeks whether it is going to happen or not with this QB. Remember he not only makes the decision in the passing game but in large part determines who carries the ball. I’ve seen several he should’ve given to the back but kept with not much production. If it doesn’t click then give Moorhead the chance to get one of his quarterbacks in here who can execute it. 6-7 wins va. 8-9 ithis year s probably the difference between Shreveport and Nashville/Charlotte for a bowl. Who really gives a crap at that point.

If the coach is dumb enough to keep trying to pound round pegs in square holes he won't be around long enough to fully implement his system.

That was a shameful coaching job last week, just hope he is man enough to learn a lesson for the future from it.

Noe of this is Moorehead's fault. It's the fault of the baseball coach that hired him.

The first half MSU slowed the game down. Second half they played into Florida’s hand.
