That was a hell of a comeback run the Dogs had today. Give Rick Ray time and we will all be impressed with the Results.

He coached his arse off in that game. Proud of the effort by this team.

That's all you can ask for from our guys. I liked the effort. The first few minutes were tough to watch though.

I think that full court press is what Ray eventually wants to run full time. He just doesn't have the depth or talent to run it constantly.

I still am in shock every time the camera pans to our bench to see our coach actually COACHING!

Big props to the Grasshopper on this hire. This man makes sure his players give full effort for 40 minutes.

State's program is going to turn around a lot faster than most realize.

He isn't as bad as a lot of State fans think. He's got your players playing their guts out. That's all you can ask for.

By alot of state fans, what you really mean is Bundy on repeat in every basketball thread!

Could tell we actually worked on how to beat a zone offensively, which basically blows my mind, since we haven't been able to beat one in years. IF we hit just 30% of our threes, or otherwise have an average shooting day, we would have won this game.

He won me after how well the team came together when Steele went down at the FAU game. If he can get us going strong in the recruiting game we have awesome teams in a few years.

He is light years ahead of Stansbury as a coach...with some easy scheduling, return of injured players, new recruits, and the weakness of the SEC- we'll be a 17-18 win team next season

The first half was painful to watch, but I really enjoyed the fight our guys had.

We have to be able to knock down shots better, we were 0-18 from 3 at one point yesterday. Right now Fred Thomas is the only healthy player who can knock down a 3. Hopefully Steele will be back and good to go by Christmas.

There is more to being a hc than game time decisions. I enjoied the effort and the fought back from a huge hole.

However, he is not a recruiter. Look at his current class and show me how many rated players he has even offered.

When msu hired him, I knew nothing about him and did some research. His quote on recruiting players said everything.

He makes one quote and you translate that to his entire recruiting efforts. This years basketball class in Mississippi isn't very talented so he is pulling some out of state players. But you are wrong in saying the bigger kids don't have offers.
He missed on a few of the bigger players in this class cause he got in the game late.

IJ Ready-Class of 2013-3 star MSU commit
Fallou Ndoye-Class of 2013-3 star MSU commit
Quantel Denson-Class of 2013-3 star MSU commit
LaDerrick Scott-Class of 2013-3 star MSU offer
Trey Thompson-Class of 2014-4 star MSU offer
Isiah Manderson-Class of 2014-4 star MSU offer
Ahmed Hill-Class of 2014-4 star MSU offer
Demetrius Houston-Class of 2014-3 star MSU offer
Devin Booker-Class of 2014-5 star MSU offer
Adonys Henriques-Class of 2014-4 star MSU offer
Malik Newman-Class of 2015-5 star MSU offer

Not to mention Maurice Dunlap a class of 2014 commit will most likely at least get 3 stars by next year.

1 player is rated as 3 star.... that's it!

Ndoye is NR
Denson is NR

Thompson is NOT offered and NOT rated a 4 star
Hill Not Offered..
Houston Not offered

The point is HE did offer player while at Clemson that were rated. His quote was that he wasn't spending time going after them because why????

So you've over stated what he has offered... and those rated high, will he spend the time recruiting them?

Time will tell. I still go to the games or listen, but he has not impressed me yet in recruiting.

So you're going to judge this guy when he got hired 10 days before signing day and hasn't gotten any bigtime recruits 7 games into the season? How the hell do you know who and who not Rick offered? Do you talk with him about it every other day? I don't know if he's a great recruiter or not, but it is way to early to say "He's not the guy because he said something else is more important than recruiting". If recruiting was important as you thought it was Stansburry woulda taken us to at least the elite 8 last year because we had that much talent, but he couldn't coach worth a crap. Right now he's coaching his butt off and our kids and playing their tails off, which is as much as anybody could ask with as much as we've got this year. Give the man a season or two before you start trying to bash him and realize we are not, nor ever will be, Kentucky.

I forgot he is supposed to be pulling in players like Nerlins Noel to this dumpster fire right off the bat.
