For the record I’ve been calling for him to be gone along with Cohen since early in the season. What a bad hire by Cohen yet again.

I won't overreact, but poor coaching played a part in the loss this afternoon.

Lets see what happens when/if he gets a QB who can reliably complete a downfield pass.

That's about how I feel.

I'm not even mad anymore. Sometimes players need to make plays as much as coaches need to put them in position to make them.

I feel about the same now as the loss to Florida.

I'm going to wait until he has his players to make any assumptions. I do think that Shrader will be our starting QB in 2019

We went from 9-4 to 8-5. Any State fan who claims they are happy with this is just BSing you.

Today did not give me the warm and fuzzies about next year. JoMo will not have an elite defense to lean on next year. If we get to 7 wins next year it will be a minor miracle.

I'm thinking so too. KT in the backfield rushing and running slot routes? Maybe because it's bowl season, maybe not. Also, starting a true freshman QB gives you a built in excuse.

Fitz threw a good ball in the second half we just couldn’t catch. Offense woes go beyond fitz

The game wasn't on Fitz. But, if he doesn't try to burn it into KT, that's a TD pass. There was a play if he drops it in the back of the endzone instead of line drive that almost got picked, it's a TD.

What you just said and trying to get Bryant as a grad transfer tells me that Moorehead doesn't have faith in KT. I like KT cause I think he's a good guy. If it was Mullen, it would be KT.

Why would you call for Moorehead to be gone? Certainly disappointed in the season as we were two dropped TD passes from winning 10 games.

You are calling for a coach to be fired after winning 8 games? Really?

I look for Moorhead and his staff to be much better in 2019. First year coaches in the SEC typically struggle and he was no different. Regardless, of how much talent you have, things are going to be difficult.

I have no idea what our record will be in 2019 but the coaching will be better.

Guidry bobbled a perfectly thrown pass in the endzone that was intercepted and ran back to around the 50. Iowa ended up getting a field goal off that turnover.

That one play was a 10 point swing and that was the difference in the game.

OMG-get over it people...the guy has been here one year..and by the way, it wasn't the coach who decided to play hot potato with a pass hitting him square in the breadbasket for a go ahead TD and allowing it to be intercepted! Lets see how it goes!

I don't know if he is terrible, but I think he is stubborn and his "system" is not nearly as good as he thinks it is. Hopefully he learns a lot this summer.

I was expecting that against a decent defense in Iowa we would have represented better, but we didn't.

I also don't understand that in a glorified exhibition game, why we didn't do things to get more players experience. Do we really need Fitz to run that much? Should key or another QB gotten more snaps?

It didn't look like we prepared or improved for crap offensively for that game.

The part that bothers me is that Moorhead did not seem to learn much throughout the year on how to win with this particular roster and its strengths and weaknesses. Long-term, we will be better off having a better passing attack, but that was never in the cards for this year. This defense got cheated out of its glory by having an anemic offense. Most of the points allowed came off poor field position from offensive miscues.

Typically you would hope you see an evolution of a new coach as a season progresses. We did not see that. Moorhead refused to change his philosophy this year to put the team in the best position to win. The program has had momentum for a while and it feels like the wind is no longer in the sails. Our record next year will be shite because we’re losing the best D in school history, will have a brand new QB and Rankin will be gone. 6-6 is the best I hope for next year.

Inconsistency was the name of the game all season on O it seemed. It felt like every time Fitz threw a good ball it’d get dropped. Conversely, the WRs made a handful of great catches throughout the season that could have easily been drops. Inconsistency stacked on inconsistency is a recipe for failure, though.

I’m pretty worried about our QB situation next year. I felt alright about it until late in the season where it became readily apparent that Joe doesn’t trust Key. I can’t come up with another explanation that explains why we basically never saw him get a chance. Key is a talented dude, too, so it’s extra worrying if Joe can’t get him functional within the offense. This is why I’m not confident at all that Shrader could take over effectively day one.

I’m not super concerned about the D next year - it should still be top 25% nationally imo. We will absolutely struggle for bowl eligibility, though, if our offense is just as dysfunctional in 2019.

waste of time. too many idiots can't see we were a couple of plays from being 10-3. They were dropped passes or missed wide open throws that a decent HS quarterback could make.

Moorhead lost everyone by losing to Florida. If that win happens, I promise you people like me would not be as harsh but still disappointed. 8-5 with that team is just mind boggling. Although I will say, that WR group and an injured Fitz Mullen left behind were too much to overcome.
