shite I didn't realize he was Co-OC. Let's be honest here though, I don't think he has any real pull in the offense. By all accounts he is at Auburn for the exact same thing we want him for - Recruiting.

Do you really think they would pay over 500K a piece for 2 Co-OC? Because if they give Craig 500K they have to pay the other one at least that much or give him the OC outright, and that ain't happening.

I agree it would be a tough pull, but as you say it would be an absolute home run.

Yes. Rhett Lashlee is the OC and QB coach. He's the 24/7 #14 national recruiter. They are both considered hot commoditites and due for big raises.

Current Auburn staff is 5th highest-paid in all of college football for their first year there. They will almost assuredly hand out nice raises. Here's the numbers.
Auburn
SEC
Ellis Johnson $800,000
Rodney Garner $500,000
Charlie Harbison $425,000
Dameyune Craig $350,000
Thomas Lashlee $350,000
Melvin Smith $300,000
J.B. Grimes $270,000
Tim Horton $250,000
Scott Fountain $250,000

Yes, I fully expect Craig and Lashlee to both be bumped up to $500k plus if anyone is coming after them, which they obviously will...

I understand he's a great asset at Auburn, and maybe it's a pipe dream, but eventually they can't keep giving all those assistants raises, right?

If they have someone the day after that can't be good and must mean a promotion from within, right?

If so, I don't like it. I always want a splash and I am almost always disappointed...

Or it means we had known for a long time that Koenning was going to be out -- and had been planning in advance...

yeah, an announcement this quick likely means promotion from within

Gonzales to OC, Sleepy to WR coach

That would be awesome but I just don't think it will be the case. I'm trying not to go full pessimistic mode.

Something else is coming later today. I'm sure an underwhelming offensive hire.

If it's this quick I wouldn't be surprised if it is just promoting from within.

Don't know...I was pretty much just joking. I don't see how giving Collins a 200k raise and getting an OC for 350-400k would break our bank though.

Stricklin is saving the money for the "Rainy Day Fund"

We need to pay now or we are never going to get better than 6-8 wins a year.
