They both need to go and you all know it. Time to clean house in the athletic dept and start over. Cohen has been a DISASTER of an AD and Moorhead is in way over his head, if you don’t agree you’re wrong

What plays or scheme's would you have called to Make our QB throw for 3 touchdowns? I'm being serious. Because if you know that then please for the love of our university pick some lotto numbers win the 1.6 billion and buy Saban for us.

Exactly. This is hopefully the last year of the Mullen era carry over. One dimensional offenses capable of winning at home vs equal to better competition but incapable of getting it done on the road. At least the current staff made an effort to develop a down field passing threat to try to make a run for the west this year. Bottom line Mullen left us with top 5 defense, top 5 running game, and a tight end at qb and no wide receivers and no passing threat. The only outcome so far that might have come out different if he was still here is Florida. Big deal. We’d have lost to KY, LSU, and go on the road and be destroyed by Bama.

I'm just amazed how Moorhead took a QB some (not me) were saying was a Heisman candidate and turned him into a QB that wouldn't play for most intramural squads.

For the rest of the season, I say we let Kylin Hill start at QB.

Tried to force him to do what over 100 other D-1 quarterbacks do every week. Read a defense and throw a pass over 10 yards down the field.

If you don’t have an issue with the product that is on the field then you have some issues. We cannot let the progress that this program has made since 2008 be killed in 1 season because it’s looking pretty bleak. Think about the 3 win seasons that are coming when joe mo doesn’t have a top 5 defense to bail him out

I’ve had an issue with it every time we thought we had a little something and go on the road and crap the bed with a one dimensional offense that can’t move the ball. Status quo until we get a few skill players on offense.

KT should be playing at this point. Fitz has regressed.

I can't disagree. He whiffed on the baseball hire. And from what they are saying on 247, this has been a disasterous off-season.

This year we make a bowl. Next year ends the streak.

Some stupid thoughts from a dumb guy:

- The season is Over with a capital “O”. Realistically it was over after the UF game.
- We need to prepare for the future and start Key. I fully expect our O to still be bad, but I really don’t think it can look worse. Even if Fitz is the difference between 7-5 and 6-6, it doesn’t really matter at this point.
- I appreciate what Fitz has done over the years for us, but we don’t owe him playtime. His confidence is shot and he’s looked worse in each consecutive loss.
- Fitz isn’t the entire problem, but he’s a big part. Our WR play is hugely inconsistent. That inconsistency stacked on Fitz’s inconsistency leads to complete ineptitude passing the ball.
- Our lack of RB carries continues to baffle.
- Fitz definitely looks like he’s lost a step from the injury. Really hate it for him. I know he’s never “looked fast”, but he certainly doesn’t appear to have that top gear anymore.
- This defense is elite, which makes this season even more depressing. These guys are battling every game and getting nothing back from our O.
- Moorhead’s toughest task is gonna be keeping this team together. I believe an offensive identity will come eventually, but if we lose the locker room and start having our young talent transfer out we could be headed deep into the woods.
- One of the biggest benefits I was hoping to see from this season was a recruiting boost. Oh well

As far as I’m concerned the streak ended with a 5-7 bowl team that lost to USA. That being said, a bowl is extremely important this year for Key and Mayden, and possibly Schrader if we can hit a late bowl game.

Nothing too mind blowing.

Just that he was spending the off-season trying to make Fitz a passer. But we already knew that....

I think Schrader is his guy. I'm not sure we see Mayden nor do I know if Key becomes the starter......

Honestly knowing Moorhead, I would expect Fitz Saturday

I will start again with my pick of MS ST to only lose 1 game... to Bama. That's where I'm coming from and for what it's worth, this is a wrong statement man.

No he isn't. That's not even close to right. He is half way running the RPO and has changed the run game to a power run against LSU of all people.

1- RPO means he's not just asking him to look at a defense on passing plays.... He is asking him to (for the first time in this kids life) look at a defense and in less than 10 seconds decide the best option IF they do what he thinks they will. So there is a pre-snap read and then a post snap read. Within that play, he can pass it… hand it off... or RUN it. 100 teams do NOT ask that of the QB.

Since you have Moorhead, here is his former boss on it:

quote:

Moorhead’s new boss at Penn State, James Franklin, said he recalls the roots of RPOs back when he was an assistant at Washington State to Mike Price in the late ’90s during the early days of the One-Back Clinic. The Cougars would either throw a bubble screen or run the Inside Zone depending on what the outside linebacker did. They also had a slant route called on the play as another option. "It was more pre-snap (read) at that point," Franklin said. Now, QBs read pre-snap on one side of the formation and post-snap on the other.

2- Fitz threw it well enough last year and anybody trying to blame that kid refuses to accept the fact that it's not him, it's the system he finds himself now in. Against us, he threw in a concept that extended the field via shorter passes. It was the system. He was not asked to do anything other than that.

3- you can say he's not working in this system, and that would be correct, but that's on Moorhead. How can a coach come in as trash everything from last year that worked and implement a total make over. This should have been a top 5 team and Moorhead wasted it.

4- Why are you trying to power run over LSU? What happened to the Motion Zone Reads? What happened to anything that worked last year?

Being serious... Don't blame the kid for the mistake of the coach.

Not if he signs the Shrader kid. He is legit for this offense.

You will retain enough on that deep defense to compete. All wRs coming back... Hill back...etc.

If the back up is your guy and Moorhead can not change.... you are correct.

Watch his Jr Highlights. It should cheer you up to see who will be running that offense.

-back shoulder throws
-deep ball
-fast
-big
-vision
-and knows.... RPO

Completing 69% of his passes too.
